Alright, I'm about to get madder'n a mashed cat over this. I have deleted and reinstalled my MW4, I know my firewall is allowing access, and I have tried everything under the sun that I know of to get MW4 to work on gameranger. I know opening ports was mentioned but I am not as internet-savvy as I may let on and while I know how to get into my router settings I am unsure what to change when I actually get there. I need a guru. Help me internet port access guru, you're my only hope!
Shorten the mektek.net to just mektek an that awfully long named folder housing MW4 to Mechwarrior4, then in gameranger options change games .exe directory from default to the newly renamed one. Also make sure that you have newest version of MW4, go to online play, join match, in the upper right corner will be games version, last 4 digits should look like that .0030
Already changed the folder names and updated. EDIT: I thought MTX had updated the game all the way but apparently not. It's still at .0029 so I will work on that tonite after work.
It worked. I logged on by myself quickly last night before bed just to make sure. We about to be Thuggin'!
