Alright, This is for discussion about a rare (once a monthish) Pathfinder campaign for all the weird wacky insane stuff that people want to try out. It will be either a Saturday morning or a Friday night, roughly 4 hours. Hit me with the weird, let's see what we can do. First Date: May 30th Time: 9pm to 1am east. Party: Dihm - Octopus Oracle Haki - Pony Inquisitor Damion - Goo Witch Alexia - Pixie Bard Tom - Shrub Summoner Demon - Something tankish
Well, seeing as someone already did Sir Bearington, I thought I could play as a Nightingale Bard. Will have to look into the specifics but basically I would fly around pecking at eyes and singing beautiful songs. Thoughts?
Are we talking silly characters with a somewhat serious story, or just pure nonsense? Because if the entire thing is going to be a joke I probably won't be interested. I'll try it to see, but there needs to be something to keep interest.
FYI, songbird is a race in the Noble Wild. Favored class is bard. Bears are in there too. I have the off on the shadowrun drop box in the for Dihm folder
The fun/humor is in the wtf of the situation, rather than being silly cause zomg! I really didn't mean to be disruptive
Nah, its cool. I don't mind wtf parties, I was just the plot would be something like count chocula invading the mushroom kingdom. I think its a lot funnier to put bizarre characters in fairly "normal" worlds and see what happens.
BTW, I re read that last post, and that sounded WAY more negative than I meant it to. I didn't mean to be a buzzkill.
I caught your meaning and we are on the same page From my perspective, my octopus really wasn't intended to be more "wacky" than a kobold
It is totally up to Demon, but personally I do not have any issues with these characters being in the main campaign, as long as there is an explainable reason for them. Dihm's Octopus, while weird is explainable in a sense through the druid spell. Haki's pony is a little less explainable, not sure on that one.
I could write it in easily enough using another material plane as an origin, but I'm not going to play a character unless everyone is okay with me playing it.
I'm building out backstory as I work on it. He has found a patron deity and the start of a motivation already! Seriously. I'm not trying to force my way in. I'm fine with a once a month thing. This seemed better than a wereoctopus!
I am already brainstorming the initial adventure. I would say classical western European. I already have the plot device to put these anchovies on the pizza together.
I'm doing something different with this character. Instead of writing a bio, I'm going to write a short story / pony fanfic starting with her early life and training and going to the start of the campaign. I hope that a rough draft of chapter one will be up tomorrow night. Comments and constructive criticism will be welcomed. [edit] I'm keeping the deities name's as they are in the show. I'm not trying to publish this, so I'm going to use Luna instead of always saying "Moon Goddess". It shorter to write, and I prefer characters to have actual names. That said, personalities will not be kept, as these are described differently (slightly) in the Ponyfinder source book. In short, apart from a few names, the characters and setting have nothing to do with MLP. This is my interpretation of a similar world. I'm using Ponyfinder as a jumping off point for races and deities, but the rest is mine.
