Some updates: In august, payday 2 held an event called icebreaker. With it came a new heister: A new heist: A new game mode: HOLDOUT! Your objective is to fight off up to 9 waves of enemies, each increasing in difficulty, to gain the maximum ransom. HOLDOUT comes with a WEEKLY version where you can unlock special rewards each week. This was followed by an event that ended yesterday: Breaking News part of Crimefest 2018 The major releases from it is: A new heist: Hell’s Island, which will have you braking into a an old WW2 POW camp. 3 new weapons: Claire 12G Shotgun, MTAR21 Assault Rifle, Deka Technologies Compound Bow A second new heist: Mercy Hospital, which is the final classic heist originally called No Mercy in Payday 1 The third and final new heist of this event will have you breaking into the White House.
Very interesting news about Payday 2. The new CEO of their publisher has decided to reverse the decision on discontinuing development for PayDay 2. Having reconsidered our future, I’ve asked the OVERKILL crew to resume production on PAYDAY 2. The game will have more updates going forward, both paid and free. An à la carte option of previous legacy content DLCs will be made available again starting today! As a part of our journey into the future, we’ll be changing the PAYDAY 2: Ultimate Edition to PAYDAY 2: Legacy Collection starting later today. We want to be able to move forward together with all of you in our community, and to be able to do this we need to retire the promise of free future content based on old assumptions (more below). Reason for this is that the publisher almost went bankrupt (still might) and entered into reconstruction. They have sold off alot of their licenses. Payday 3 is in development but that is a couple years away and they need money now which is why they have gone back to payday 2.
