The MK 200 is a fantastic all around weapon. It can handle lots of different optics, can be suppressed, and is pretty accurate when firing from prone.

I like the Mk 200 as well. Good accuracy and pretty good recoil control for an LMG too.

If you're on tonight I'll be happy to work with you as well as Trev. I hope to be on around 9pm EST if I get all my housework and homework done.

I think I'll be making two LMG specialists, one for night ops/sneaky with the Mk 200 and another with the Zafier for "I-don't-care-who-fucking-hears-me" ops

I keep going to the goodness that is the 7.62 option but reality says that the mk200 is more effective unless you are tap firing long ranges.

Kind of like everyone carrying 7.62 rifles is nice and all, but in the real world marksmen carry heavy rifles, and everyone else gets lighter assault weapons with more ammo and shorter range.

Only two things I really want to do, vehicle crew and crew-serviced weapons, mostly mortars. I'm not expecting to do a lot of direct fighting. Any builds for those?

Long overdue but here's my setup (after conversion from AAF to CTRG) :

    Uni: CTGR Roll-up
    -sound suppressor LMG (6.5mm)
    -Nightstalker
    Vest: Carrier GL Rig (green)
    -Smoke grenade (red)
    -Smoke grenade (green)
    -Smoke grenade (white)
    -6.5mm 200rd tracer belt x2
    Pack: Assault pack (green)
    -NV Goggles (black)
    -First aid kit x5
    -6.5mm 200rd tracer belt x2
    Weapon: Mk200 6.5mm
    -MRCO scope
    Headgear: Beanie
    Facewear: Bandanna (shades)
    Binocs: Laser Designator
    Terminal: GPS

    Load: 55%

This build's got the heavy armor but uses my non-helmet signature look, plus dropping the helmet does save some weight. I like the Mk 200 because it can be suppressed but also it's easier to control in burst and sustained fire. The tracer rounds help direct fire but they can also give away your position if the enemy is looking your way, 1000 rounds including what's loaded in the gun should be enough for most engagements. I keep the NVGs in my pack just for looks, but there is still some room on the uni and vest to carry other stuff and you can always go to a bigger (but heavier) pack if needed. GPS and laser designator are standard for all my builds.

    Looks really good, Skwi!

If I were to shift from the Mk200 to the Zafir, would you suggest altering anything about the loadout? Or just switch the gun and ammo?

Just off the top of my head you'll most likely be carrying less ammo or a lighter vest rig to make up for the extra weight. Unless of course you just want to run heavy.

We never really got into any sustained firefights with Ghizmo's scenario the other night, so I didn't even run through what I had onboard, much less dip into Daemonstalker's backpack for my spare ammos.

I don't remember for sure but I think the 150rd 7.62 boxes are at least as heavy as the 200rd 6.5 boxes. If you stick with 4+1 that should still get you 750 rounds, I'd hope that would be enough. If they hit they do more damage but recoil and spread on worse on the Zafir so getting them to hit will suffer.

Personally I just run really heavy and pack on the ammo and armor when using the Zafir. The reality is that I rarely carry more than 750 rounds total since I'm also lugging an rpg-42 with reloads making up the rest of the weight.

It also depends on who we are fighting, if we are up against people who are also taking Zafir's then I go light on ammo trusting that I can rob it from them as we go.
