    QUEST: The Dark Unknown (0101)

We built a worthy ship to seek out new shores, but every attempt to depart from this island is thwarted by an impenetrable and unrelenting fog that makes navigation impossible. Any attempts to sail straight away invariably turn us back to the island. Many believe the gods are preventing us from leaving. I know not the will of the gods, but I am becoming more fearful that we will never leave this island alive. As if unnatural fog was not enough, the eastern wind carries the voices of malicious chittering at night. We dare not answer the call. For now, our ship remains in the bay while we plan our next move.

QUEST: Wings of the Plague-borne (0102)

Another died today. This time it was Jomar. This strange sickness started after sightings of those giant bats. They seem to be coming from the swamp to the East of Viking Bay. A mysterious castle stands imposing on our horizon, but we dare not venture near it anymore. We've already lost too many. The creatures seem to be drawn to our presence. Vigli believes they come to feed on the insects that are attracted to our campfires, but they are ravenous, territorial, and know no fear of humans. All I know is that we cannot remain here. The attacks get worse with each passing nightfall. We must find better shelter and soon. Vigli has found a cave under the waterfall that feeds the bay, we have no idea what lies inside, but it can't be any worse than this.

    The Skjaldborg Server's
    Guide To Zone Control

Control points are scattered across the map marked as indestructible "artifacts". Each represents a known region of the map. Eliminating all threats around these points and notifying a GM of your intent to capture the zone will allow you to claim new territory. You can only make a claim on zones that are adjacent to recognized "Controlled" zones. Zones that are adjacent to "Controlled" zones are considered "Contested" until successfully claimed.

There are THREE levels of threat on the map:
    1. Controlled (Blue) - This is a relatively safe area. Any attacks conducted by a GM will be made using only vanilla spawns and time of attack will be posted at least 24 hrs in advance to give players ample warning. Any PvP in these areas is subject to banning.
    2. Contested (Yellow) - Players and their mounts may be attacked or killed at any time, but a GM will avoid destroying structures when possible. PvP is allowed here.
    3. Deadzone (Red) - This is basically a "no-fly zone" to ALL players. Any incursions by players in these areas will be dealt with immediately by a GM (usually in spectacular fashion).

    QUEST: Waking The Neighbors (0103)

We tracked down a roost for bats in a nearby cave. If we can kill them during the day, they should be slower to react and easier to deal with. Taking care of them now before the next attack will help to thin out their numbers and hopefully make future attacks less likely. The cave itself is also a good location for gathering more resources and will aid us as a launch point for explorations deeper into the interior of the jungle.

    QUEST: Spelunking For Profit

We found another cave... largest one we've seen yet. Its cavernous interior is flush with resources and it's location will put us in a better location to consolidate our forces. Scouts report it shows signs of once being inhabited, but whoever lived there is long gone. As is typical for this region, bats have taken up residence. We will need to clear them out before we can move in. There's also a large group of kapros we will need to deal with. They are individually weak, but dangerous in large numbers. Balli's been scouting out the cave and he's found three ways we can gain entry:
    • The Fun Way - take a leap of faith from the waterfall below Donovan Bridge; it's the fastest way in and will put us in a good position once inside, but it's one hell of a ride down and the water below may have a few dozing kapros.
    • The Dry Way - on the north side of the cave and up the hill is the only entrance that won't get your feet wet, but something is blocking the path; anyone attempting to gain entrance there has not returned alive. The men are not eager to go this route.
    • The Hard Way - there's a second northern entrance, but this one is low and is only accessible by water; canoes would be our best bet, but there are many more Kapros to fight through if we go this way and we will have very little room to pick the bats off from a distance.

    QUEST: The Hubris Of Man
    Location: Ruins of Etain

There was once a mighty fortress known as the Tower of Etain. It was inhabited by a group of brilliant artificers and alchemists who sought knowledge above all else. This would often lead to them pushing the boundaries of what most would be considered safe. They were eventually destroyed by one of their own experiments, but they succeeded in many achievements before their catastrophic demise. I need you to search the ruins and scavenge what you can. I am certain there are still treasures buried there that have not been recovered.

QUEST: In The Forest Of The Night
    Location: Wedlock Peak

Progress at the Ruins of Etain has slowed. Our excavation teams are under constant assault from various creatures both day and night. The creatures seem drawn to the fresh water source. While more kaprosuchus have returned to the lake, it is the sabertooth attacks at night that have given our teams the most trouble. We believe they have a lair somewhere nearby, probably a cave within Wedlock Peak. We need you to clear the area so our team can complete their work.

    QUEST: The Emerald Sky King
Location: Erland Rocks located in NW Oluf Jungle

With our ability to craft grappling hooks and fire arrows, we finally have the means to take down that accursed plague drake hiding in the Erland Rocks. For too long it has preyed on our people. Slay the beast and rid us of this winged terror.

    QUEST: Savage Land Sanctuary
    Location: Barnji Plateau

There is no direct route by foot to the plateau, but our scouts believe there are remnants of a pirate hideout somewhere on the plateau. There may be a longer way by foot across Donovan Bridge, but such a route will take us through Wyvern territory. Our only other option for access would be to use our newly acquired grappling hooks. Investigate the area and see what you can uncover.
