I'm looking to pick a joystick and throttle in the near future. So far, I'm almost sold on the CH Fighterstick and throttle, where I can get both for about $200. I've also heard good things about the Thrustmaster T16000M's sensor's, but I'm not really sold on its ergonomics.

I don't want to go over about $200, since I'd also like to pick up a set of pedals later, but I'd like some input on this one.

The best HOTAS you can buy for under $200.

    1: buy the CH throttle
    2: Buy the Thrustmaster T16000m.

You really dont need peddles. If you have the awesome twist stick. Remember the insides of the T16000m is the same tech as thrustmaster warhog.

Ch sticks are not twisters so you will need peddles if you go the CH.

I have owned and tested every HOTAS set up there is.

    My top ranked
1: Thrustmaster Warhog with saitek combat peddles.
2: Ch or x52 throttle with Thrustmaster T16000m.no peddles.
3: Full CH Hotas setup. with CH peddles. Your never break it. Old tech lets it down.

Don't touch if you planing on hardcore use.
G950 bag of shit. comes with peddles is cheap. will break and stick wobble.
x52 good throttle bad stick. Will break and stick wobble.
x65f only been out and short while, It has had many issues and been discontinued.
x52 pro same problems as he x52.

Saitek have a new HOTAS coming out. http://www.saitek.com/x55/ could be worth keeping a eye on it. Remember though that Saiteks previous HOTAS's have had many issues and build quality has been cheap.

    Sold.

That's about the most detailed and glowing review of anything I've ever read. And it was nice that he talked so much the installation and options.

And Manco, I don't use the twist option on most sticks . I have trouble with my wrists and it can be a pain.

Thank you both for the feedback. That helped.

Save some more money and got the Warhog. sitting at $400 is more then you want to spend but once you used it you be happy with the purchase. Also you can buy extenders for the warhog stick you can have it sitting between your legs, could be a bit more comfy for your wrists.

If I just wanted the best stick with twist on it, what would that be? I have an old Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro but it feels a bit loose in the middle so thinking about a replacement... Thrustmaster t-16000?

    Yes!

I got it on mancos recommendation. As he said, it uses the same internals as the warthog and while the outside looks a bit plasticky it is awesome to play with. I'm saying this coming from the x52 pro which I was sorely dissapointed by.

After two weeks of using off days to work, buy materials, etc, this is the finished product. There is another piece that goes on top of the desk to hold a cup holder, track IR, and some other stuff, but this part is finished.

Great idea, Was looking into building a HOTAS rig myself. was looking at metal pipes. The PVC is strong enough ? does not wobble or anything ?.

T16000m came in today. Great feel, tight movement, no dead zone. Good return to center. War Thunder is much harder in cockpit with joystick than 3PV with mouse aim. MUCH harder.
