    "Scorpion's Nest"

If the BattleMech is the battlefield's undesputed champion, the Scorpion Light Tank is the battlefield's punching bag. Cheaply made and massed produced in the hundreds of thousands, the Scorpion can be found in almost any backwater militia garrison where money is hard to come by. How can such a lowly combatant hope to challenge a Mech? Play this legendary scenario and learn the Scorpion's version of death by a thousand cuts.

More info on the Scorpion Light Tank can be found here:

    CREATOR'S NOTES:
As a group we have been using optional rules that make the AC/5 much more lethal than it would be normally. This is something that I feel is necessary since the stock AC/5 is actually quite terrible when compared to the combined capabilities of an LRM 10 and medium laser. The LRM 10 can *potentially* (and often does) do more damage at even longer range and the medium laser is a far more efficient short range option. Worst of all, both of these together weigh 25% less than a single AC/5 as well as giving you better weapon redundancy and indirect fire options. Now granted, on a cheap ICE tank, energy weapons are very costly. However, the argument still holds up when comparing the AC Scorpion and LRM variant. While the LRM version lacks any short range weaponry, it more than makes up for it in long range firepower, allowing a large group of LRM Scorpions to cover each other's "blindspots" very effectively.

In terms of armament for Mechs, the AC/5 is also embarrassingly ineffective compared to a standard PPC. However, the story changes drastically when the following optional rules are turned on:

-Rapid Fire Autocannons: may fire like an Ultra AC with increased risk of jamming/explosion
-Kinder Rapid Fire Autocannons: reduces risk of jamming/explosion (still riskier than Ultras though thanks to another rule, "Unjam Ultra ACs")
-Increased AC damage: +1 damage to AC/2s and AC/5s

With these turned on, light ACs actually perform quite well for their intended function without feeling overpowered. Also, you should be warned; like all AC equipped units, a company of Scorpions becomes FAR more lethal in the hands of a person who knows how to use the "Rapid Fire" option. ;)
