    That is what most people have thought. Tank battles never had a big role in the Pacific plus it doesn't help when it's very hard to get information about the tanks. As alot of documents were destroyed by the end of the war or are hidden in some archive.

    Alot of people believed that the tree was gonna be filled with prototypes but there are actually few of them that are.

    ST-A1 and ST-A2 are prototypes for the Type 61

    STB-1 is a prototype for the Type 74

    Chi-Ri II was a planned upgrade were they switch to a diesel engine.

    Ta-Se. During trials, it was determined that the chassis used was too small to be a stable firing platform.

    So-Ki. While successfully tested, was not accepted into service. Due to the lack of available resources

    Na-To II. Was about to enter production when the war ended.

    Heavy Tank No.6 aka Tiger I. They purchased one from the germans.

    M24, M41, M4A3 (76) W is what the JSDF used during the Korean War.

    Everything else was in production.

    It is.

    The Heavy Tank No.6 (Tiger) and Chi-Ha Naval Short are premiums which you buy through the pre-order pack. They are still listed on the tech tree though

    On 10th December, Gaijin opened up the 1.65 dev server and with it was 33 vehicles from tier 1 to 5.

    I'm very happy to finally see them ingame. Nevertheless, there are still some errors with them and even though it's the first dev server version and some things are placeholder it's still important to point out the errors.

    Here is a list containing the errors that the community have found

    Ha-Go: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells.

    I-Go: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells.

    Ho-Ro: High Penetration, Low Depression.

    Type94 Truck: Low Speed.

    Ke-Ni: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Speed, Overbuffed Hull Armour.

    Chi-Ha: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Depression

    Ka-Mi: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells.

    Chi-Ha Kai: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    Ho-I: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Depression.

    Ho-Ni I: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells,

    Ta-Se: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells,

    Naval Short: Lack of Shells.

    Chi-He: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    Ho-Ni III: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Depression.

    Chi-Nu: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low Elevation.

    Chi-To: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low ROF, Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    Na-To: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells, Low ROF, Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    So-Ki: Incorrect Gun, Low Penetration.

    Heavy No.6: Small Cosmetic Errors, Overbuffed top turret armour.

    Chi-Ri II: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells.

    ST-A's: Low Penetration, High Hull Armour, Wrong Xray, Small Turret/Guns, Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    Type61: Low Penetration.

    STB-1: Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    Type74: Low Depression, Low Elevation.

    Type60: Low Penetration, Lack of Shells.

    Summary: Most tanks have lower pen then what they should and many are lacking shells that they used. Many of the tanks are also lacking in gun depression and elevation.

    Japanese Tank classification system.

    Type "X" is determined on the year of the tanks introduction.

    For example "Type 97 Chi-Ha" was put into service in 1937 which was the year 2597 according to the Japanese Imperial calendar.

    Calendar year formula:
    Imperial Year = Gregorian + 660 years

    Tank Classification system:

    Ke = Light
    Chi = Medium
    O = Heavy
    Ho = Tank Destroyer

    So now we know the Chi-Ha was classed as a medium tank.

    Uses "Iroha" for numbers:

    1- I or Yi
    2 – Ro
    3 – Ha
    4 – Ni
    5 – Ho
    6 – He
    7 – To
    8 – Chi
    9 – Ri
    10 – Nu
    11 – Ru
    12 – O or Wo

    So now we know that "Type 97 Chi-Ha" literally means "Year 2597 Medium Tank (Model) 3"

    Further info:

    Kai = "modified"
    Shinhoto = "New Turret"

    A / Ko = "the first"
    B / Otsu = "the second"
    C / Hei = "the third"
    D / Tei = "the fourth"

    Now we know that "Type 97 Shinhoto Chi-Ha Kai" means "Year 2597 New Turret Medium (Model) 3 modified"

    "Type 3 Chi-Nu Kai" means "Year 2603 Medium Tank (model) 10 modified"
