    More stability fixes and polishing of multiplayer. It's definitely getting noticeably better now.

    Also, custom pre-built mechs now work in the game.

    I still don't pistons or rotors. Not really any use for them.

    I've found pistons to be perfect for retractable landing gear and rotors good for loading ramps... but they are only really as good as them not exploding. Sounds like recent updates have fixed this, though.

    might need to try them again. There is a mod that adds aircraft looking wheels, rotors for said wheels to retract and landing gear doors (small and large ship).

    it's the plane parts mod

    if pistons are working much better I want to try to design a retractable docking tube to lessen the chance of damaging the ship or station when docking.

    currently redesigning from scratch my interplanetary carrier. haven't really named it yet and the interior is nowhere near finished. But the exterior is for the most part done.

    at the moment I have 24 large reactors and 24 small reactors in there. And there is still a ton of space left inside. I'm not layering heavy armor though the outside is all heavy armor. Only a few spots have more than a single layer of armor through necessity then planning and it is light behind heavy. Might rework the exterior of the bridge a bit too. Roughly from the front of the bridge to the hanger entrance is just hanger. Total length is 127.5 meters (85 blocks) while width is 61.5 meters.

    Keep in mind when we get the server up there will definitely be a block limit. That ship will propably be too big to work on the server as a personal ship. Might work for a "boss battle", though. Also, those wheels look great!

    On a related note:

    The chopper blades are a bit visually buggy, but watch for the working guided missiles!

    Yeah i was thinking with that ship it would either be group starting ship (depending on how many people we have) or an AI ship (freighter type thing.) Plus i might have to redesign the interior again once we figure out what mods we are going to use.

    oh. I haven't tried it yet but apparently there is a mod that makes it so there can be AI cargo ships in a planets atmosphere.

    This mod adds a system that allows for ships to spawn in planetary atmosphere as hostile cargo ships. The mod will work on any medium to large sized planet, including modded planets.

    It does work. I added it to my mods list and I see ships popping up on the planet though so far they have all been over 20 kilometers away. What it is a big planet. I think when you finally leave the gravity is around 50 kilometers or more above the surface. Heck I think where I landed my carrier (now finished enough to land on a planet and has enough power and thrust to stay in the air at just under 40 million kilograms I think the weight in in kilograms) is about 40K from the starting base.

    made a small plane to test out that plane parts mod (with the wheels) and that missile guidance block mod. My guess without have flown it though is it is to heavy for the amount of power it generates. but anyways.

    it should have 2 gatling guns as well but they may have fallen off at somepoint because issues.

    after some testing it does generate enough power for flight. Also added 2 rocket launchers so final loadout is 2 gatling guns 2 rocket launchers and 6 missiles. And holy crap those missiles are good. Though the range seems a bit much maybe partly because I'm doing it in creative. I did see that the lockon range is 30 kilometers but I guess defenseive turrets are the balance.

    My mistake. Yeah that interplanetary carrier is definitely a "boss", AI cargo ship (very rare one if you can do a rarity setting) or goal for us to build. when I did the measurements I was thinking for some reason each block was 1.5 meters. then remember they are 2.5. So yeah the length is actually 212.5 Meters long and 102.5 width. (obviously the inside is not that wide. Hell even if you can't do a rarity (how often it shows up) for cargo ships this thing would be tough to capture.

    Using rough naval vessel average proportions, my guess is that personal ships won't need to be much longer than 100m. That's just a ballpark estimate. Certainly, we could build larger, but there typically isn't any need to.

    Yeah that thing would only be a borg ship and i'd say only if we had 10 people playing fairly regularly. I'm currently redesigning a ship that will be around 100 meters (hopefully slightly less) atmospheric only. I do lime the armor thrusters mods. Allows one to incorportate the atmos0heric thrusters as part of the airtight compartments more easily. Also to me they flow better. I still use the vanilla models in areas where they don't need to flow with the armor of the ship. Like those thruster pods on the sides i use the vanilla atmospheric thrusters.
