It's funny that with modern tools some indie games have superior quality to 'AAA' titles. For instance many indie games don't crash to desktop, fail to connect and they even look prettier. It's almost as if.. some of those 50-100k per year devs at 'AAA' studios weren't... quite up to their tasks? Oh my. Did I just dare say that?
Have anyone purchased this and given it a proper playtesting? I know multiple people that have bought it and enjoy it but i'm interested in what anyone here thinks about it. Nothing about EA and their prices, DLC and so on. People have made that clear already. I just want to know about the gameplay.
Well, indie developers really have only their own reputations to go on, so they tend to take the time to do things right and try to release the best quality and stability they can. In some of the larger firms, teams are thrown at a project and told to finish it fast. That primary devotion to executing on schedule shows in he finished product.
I get the impression that this will play out the same way TitanFall did. A lot of flash without much substance. The risk of EA using the franchise to bolster sales on the coattails of the movies is just too great for me to feel good about investing any time in it... but again, that's only my impression.
I would but I'm clearly not even remotely in their target demography so it would be pointless. It is a shooter, it is Star Wars, there's hardly a dull moment either. Whether that is enough for you - it's up to you. The part about it being shooter means it's got all the typical elements of online shooters, minus being able to choose a vehicle plus always spawning near where the action is. How much do you play online shooters? Do you play them from week to week, month to month? Then this might be just the thing for you with Star Wars twist. Though for some the streamlined simplicity may be a turnoff and for others it may be a key selling point. Nowadays people tend to be pretty specific about the games they enjoy, at least gamers that have played their share of games in the past. It appears taste in games is an acquired thing. Initially you're happy with any Super Mario thing where you smash bricks and later you tend to ignore whole games because of a specific feature.
19 hours played, KDR in the toilet, but still having fun. Jumping into an ATAT and firing on rebels always brings a smile to this face
I have to give the new Jakku mode a passing grade of a B, played 2 rounds on each side, barely won each one. It came down to skin of the teeth heroics from a few key defenders/attackers that happened to turn the tide. That is what I was expecting day 1, had to wait a month. So for those that have it, that's a decent mode to play. For those that don't, wait for a sale or them to release more good content.
that sounds pretty fucked up that a game mode is behind a pay wall. at least it sounds better than everything else i've heard.
I meant the game to buy, not the Jaku thing it's self. That is free, and is a general release product on Dec 7, I just got early access due to pre-order.
