Unfortunately, for Stellaris mods to work in multiplayer, ALL players must have the same mods installed. I believe this is something the devs want to address, but for now here are some effective solutions for fixing any "host has another version of the game" errors. MOD WIPE - follow steps in order Unsubscribe from ALL mods (you can keep track of them by adding them as a "Favorite" or creating a personal "Collection"). Delete all "mod" files in this folder (not the folder itself): "C:\Users\username\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod" Delete all "mod" files in this folder (not the folder itself): "C:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990" Validate game files on Steam. Subscribe to required mods on Steam. Check mod list on Stellaris launcher; number and list should now be identical to what you have subscribed. I've tested this and it works. If this doesn't work, your game is likely bugged. In this case, you need to manually purge some files as simply uninstalling will not fix this. FRESH INSTALL - follow steps in order Unsubscribe from ALL mods (you can keep track of them by adding them as a "Favorite") or creating a personal "Collection"). Uninstall the game. Delete everything in your "C:\Users\username\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris" folder EXCEPT the following: "save games" folder - saved multiplayer games "pdx_login.txt" - login info "settings.txt" - your game settings "user_empire_designs.txt" - your custom factions Reinstall the game Subscribe to required mods on Steam. Check mod list on Stellaris launcher; number and list should now be identical to what you have subscribed.
If you're on tonight, I'd like to test this with you, seeing how we had the issues last night. I didn't delete the stuff in that second folder listed, 'cause everyone forgot to mention it/and I was high as a kite. So yeah, I'll try the full mod wipe and reinstall of mods, with game file validation, then see if I can connect.
