Nyxie and Me at Calico Basin
Moxie and me on a walk about.
I'm calling her Nyxie. Nyx after the Greek Goddess of Night. Nyx is the Greek goddess (or personification) of the night. A shadowy figure, Nyx stood at or near the beginning of creation and mothered other personified deities such as Hypnos (Sleep) and Thanatos (Death), with Erebus (Darkness). Her appearances are sparse in surviving mythology, but reveal her as a figure of such exceptional power and beauty that she is feared by Zeus himself.
Of course there is only ONE song that plays in your head as you ride....
Getting that side car still Iron?
My infatuation with sidecars has waned considerably with Nyxie. The sidecars that I see for her all look way out of proportion to her build. So for now I'll ride her like she is, but I am going to get saddle bags ASAP (that milk crate has gotz to go) and a lil' P-seat that I can take on and off (with bolts, so a little effort). So far I am loving it and have already put 200 miles on her. I can't wait to go on a longer ride, but all in due time.
(sudden flash of inspiration...)...of course I could just use milk crates as saddle bags and place milk crates ALL OVER my HARLEY and be THAT GUY.
A couple of pictures of Nyxie with the luggage rack, then with passenger pegs and P-Seat.
Nyxie at Mt. Chucky (Charleston)
The town of Mt. Charleston
The view from up there somewhere... on the other side I think...
Funny story about that Mt. Chucky trip. Those clouds chased me all the way from the valley. It would catch up to me after about an hour or so and I would have to motor on... that is until the road curves back to the valley. I managed to dodge that mostly but I did get sprinkled on all the way.
