Its also funny how people price point has shifted. Cable everywhere is minimum of like $50, usually more than that. Netflix is $10 but people are hesitant about spending $20 for two services even when its still probably cheaper than what they used to pay. Similar to how desktop applications are expensive but nobody will pay $1 for something similar on mobile. I still have cable mostly for sports and live events because I don't like messing with crappy streaming sites, although I may turn it off soon with the better official sports streaming packages that are coming out.

On the console note, growing up I didn't have any, just a PC, most of my friends only had one though. Right now I have a PS4 and debating a Switch cause of my kids.

Hope Hulu dies off first. It was free for a long time. Then they added a pay to have no ads while you watch, and later a higher option to simulcast or watch things the day they come out while others don't. Now it is just another paid streaming service.

Hulu was set up by and is still owned by several of the TV companies. Disney/ABC, FOX, NBC/Comcast, CBS, and later TimeWarner. It doesn't surprise me that as Netflix grew they saw the profit potential in a paid service instead of a free + add service. That said, I could see it coming down to just Hulu and Netflix when the streaming wars really begin. All the smaller ones will be consumed by one of these 2. In some cases the cost of maintaining a separate streaming service will not be worth it and the parent company will just sell it off to Hulu or Netflix.

Only amazon has a chance of really breaking into the streaming market, as Amazons market diversity is to wide now.

Amazon prime is okay for streaming, but they throw in a LOT of other perks. If you shop online much, the free shipping can actually get your money back.
