Hey guys, I'm looking to pick up a joystick and, as the topic title states, I'm trying to choose between the thrustmaster and the x-52. Most of what I've heard so far has pretty much said that the x-52 is a better stick, but I'm wondering if it's worth the extra 100$? Any advice is welcome
I dont think the 100$ are worth it if you dont plan on playing some hardcore flight sims... I am sure the Hotas is perfectly fine for MWO I have it myself and its enough for softcore flightsims and everything else
Thanks for the link Grim but it's quite a bit out of my price range :/ If only I had the cash... Yeah I would normally agree, but I've been playing some MW4 and I hate having to control everything with one hand on the keyboard (It's possible I'll just end up using a throttle, but I'd at least like to try it out). Also I love buying new toys I'm definitely leaning towards the Hotas, the price is superb. I'm just wondering if there is any particular reason/flaw that makes it so inexpensive?
I was thinking about getting a HOTAS as well, but thinking long term, I don't want to spend $100+ on something I'll use for just one game.
Well its not as accurate as the saitek and i dont really feel any resistance even tough it should have one. The design is also simple with cheap materials and has fewer buttons without blink blink. As said for hardcore sims its not suitable but for a mech game it should suffice.
Exactly, which is why I'm leaning heavily towards the thrustmaster - I'm pretty sure that it's around 50$. I don't play flight sims or anything so I'd hate to drop all that cash for such a singular purpose Thanks for all the advice man I think I've got enough info to make a decision
I have a Tflight and it is nice and cheap. The software is absolutely horrid though, there is no customization. The throttle and stick both have a lot of play and do not seem nearly as accurate as they should be. i was actually looking at upgrading to something better at some point. The cable between the two units is also awfullly short. I had to cut into it to make room so I could put the two pieces on either side of my keyboard.
