In-battle footage starts at around 2:45 So I've actually had beta access this game for some time, but I only just now got around to properly playing. I'm having a lot of fun with it; it gives you the classic total war battle experience but with a twist. For those of you who aren't familiar with this title, this is 10v10 pvp (ala world of tanks, war thunder, or armored warfare) where you control three units as part of a larger "army" (more like a mish-mash of tiny forces lol). At this point, you have access to Greek and Roman units as well as "barbarian" units (the unit tree for the last faction isn't fleshed out much, though) so if you're a fan of Rome 2's time period but want some faster-paced action, this might be up your alley. The main reason I bring this up now is because I realized I actually have a handful of steam keys sitting around: XJ6FF-ELB3E-Y9XR5 [TAKEN] Z4XXE-9R5ZA-2H7YD [TAKEN] PC5AF-DXBFI-2CJHZ P6Y7P-D0RIT-KYB4R Feel free to take one (try to let us know when you do) if you want to try for yourself! As a bonus, to the best of my knowledge, these keys work in any country, so you EU folks (or wherever the hell you are) can get in on the action, too!
Took the first one; thanks Orcinus! Will definitely check it out.Does it play a bit like World in Conflict?
I've never played World in Conflict, so I had to look it up. From what little I saw, there are certainly similarities, though you won't control as many units (it's always three), the camera is more zoomed in, and your "class" (i.e. your Commander) doesn't restrict what type of units you can bring. Actually, I'm going to insert a video about the game in the OP, because that seems like a good idea.
Played quite a bit yesterday. Got up to t3 barbarians. Neat game. Need to play with come for some brutal coordination.
Yea, so its basically WoT, World of Warships, War Thunder, etc, except with a little more emphasis on commanders. Your troops are tiered like the other F2P games, level them up, etc. The battle DOES require some team work, as alone you'll be slaughtered, and formations and how you attack when and where matter a great deal. So there is a great deal of tactics to the game. A coordinated team will wipe the floor quickly with a team that is not. So far my favorite is cavalry. Early game scouts, later game sweeping in behind the enemy and crushing them from behind for a quick rout. T3 barbs at the moment.
