I enjoyed it and yes it isn't that old. However this game is more like a standalone expansion. First game takes place in the old world. Second in the new world. If you own both games you can combine them.
Spoiler: Lizardmen Army Roster Legendary Lords: Spoiler: Mazdamundi Lord Mazdamundi is the oldest and most powerful of the living Slann Mage-Priests. With a matchless mind unfathomable to others, Mazdamundi is obstinate in his ways and will not be deterred from that upon which he has decided. Although it took many interruptions to his thoughtful contemplations, at last the great Mazdamundi has stirred himself, shaking off the lethargy that has afflicted so many of his kind. When riled, the Lord of the Solar-City will levitate his palanquin-throne atop the largest Stegadon that can be found. The current beast, a colossal specimen named Zlaaq, has served Mazdamundi for almost five hundred years. Once aloft on his mount, Mazdamundi will march out at the head of the armies of Hexoatl. With a flick of his wrist, Mazdamundi has smashed cities and doomed armies. His Great Purpose does not allow for mercy… Spoiler: Kroq-Gar Kroq-Gar is an ancient Saurus, the last remaining warrior from the now ruined temple-city of Xhotl. It was none other than the great Lord Mazdamundi that summoned Kroq-Gar to his temple-city, choosing him to lead the great Saurus armies that remained. Since that day, Mazdamundi has assigned Kroq-Gar the sacred task of exterminating those creatures not part of the Old Ones’ Great Plan. Over this long existence, Kroq-Gar has fought many wars – leading the armies of Hexoatl, or joining other hosts to aid them in battle. There is no continent upon which Kroq-Gar and Grymloq have not fought, but for the last defenders of Xhotl, the battle is not yet over. So valiant and skilled is he that the bards of Ulthuan sing that he is nothing less than Aenarion reborn – a tale that is given credence far beyond Ulthuan’s shores. Since Tyrion’s meteoric rise to fame, many have whispered of his destiny to lead the High Elves towards a glorious future and perhaps one day to take the Phoenix Crown. If Tyrion hears such gossip, he pays it no heed, for he is unswervingly loyal to Finubar. Thus does Tyrion concern himself only with the twin duties of protecting Ulthuan and its Everqueen. However, the latter is seen less as a duty than it is a calling of the heart – it is common knowledge that Tyrion is Alarielle’s consort, and has been for many years. Though Tyrion is a great warrior, he is no politician, and he is much given to speaking his mind or openly seeking truth where others would prefer only silence. But for his lineage and battle record, he would long ago have been ostracised by those nobles who hold themselves to be more intelligent and subtler than he is. As it is, none wish to directly challenge he who banised the Daemon N’kari at the Phoenix shrine and slew Urian Poisonblade upon the Finuval Plain. Spoiler: Teclis Teclis is Tyrion’s twin brother, but two more different siblings would be hard to find. Where the curse of Aenarion has yet to leave an obvious mark upon Tyrion, it has made his brother frail and caustic. Indeed, so feeble is Teclis that his body can only be sustained by the consumption of magical potions. Yet no-one, least of all Tyrion, sees Teclis as the weaker twin – his destiny merely lies along another path. Teclis has been blessed with a talent for magic that makes him preeminent, not only amongst the mages of Ulthuan, but in the whole world. Though it is little acknowledgement in Naggaroth, the Witch King accedes that Teclis is his superior and, since the Battle of Finuval Plain, has taken care not to come into direct conflict with his younger cousin. It is even claimed that Teclis’ power approaches that of the great Necromancer Nagash, so it is fortunate that he has devoted his life to thwarting the powers of Chaos and death. The twins also differ greatly in their strategic outlook. Where Tyrion sees the protection of Ulthuan as his chief duty, Teclis seeks to safeguard the whole world. Such is the ideology that led him to aid Magnus the Pious during the Great War Against Chaos, and thereafter found the Colleges of Magic in the Empire. Since then, Teclis has walked abroad in many other lands, sharing his wisdom with those who have need of it, and wielding his magics to keep the dark forces of Chaos at bay. Thus will Teclis’ legend endure long after heroes of the sword have been forgotten, for his actions shaped not a battle, nor even a campaign, but the future of the world itself. Release is scheduled for 28th September. There is apparently artwork at E3 that basically confirms that Skaven will be the 4th faction
With the release of Norsca today and the embargo lifting on the 17th. We will likely see something interesting next week.
We better call the inquisitor, someone have been talking and spreading lies about these imaginary ratmen Spoiler: Nothing here...
I really want to enjoy this, but for some reason it just never really clicked with me. I barely played the last installment.
They updated the map with the skaven factions so i updated my post about it. Spoiler: Warhammer 2 map An interesting part is that most of the skaven factions are hidden and that you will reveal their locations by exploring ruins. Most of the map looks like i excpected with no real surprises. The land areas have been moved around and resized alot but that is likely for gameplay reasons. Will be interesting to see how they combine the 2 maps. as some things are completely out of proportions to what they should be. Maps under the spoiler links so that you can compare yourself Spoiler: Warhammer Fantasy Map Spoiler: Complete World map This one is below it's own spoiler because Games Workshop have never really covered the areas to the east that much. Would be fun to see the game go there but i doubt it. Looking at what factions we have already, there are some ideas for what will come as DLC. We will definetly see more legendary lords dlc, question is just who and these will also add some more units. When it comes to faction DLC, Tomb Kings is a must. Right now we seem to have vampire counts in their positions as placeholder. Araby is also possible with bretonnians controlling their territories as placeholder. From there it's difficult to say, there are some smaller factions like Amazons or Pirates of Sartosa but i doubt it would be them. Maybe more Faction DLC for the Old World, like Tilea, Estalia or Kislev.
Spoiler: Dark Elf Roster Legendary Lords Spoiler: Malekith Malekith is the son of Morathi and Aenarion. He grew to be a mighty warrior, a great sorcerer and a brilliant general, but was shunned by his folk when Aenarion was slain. When Bel-Shanaar was chosen to rule in his stead and Malekith began a long campaign that has lasted for five thousand years. Now reigning over his dispossessed people as the Witch King of Naggaroth, Malekith is a fearsome warrior and mighty sorcerer. With both spell and blade he destroys all that oppose him. His burnt and scarred body is bound within the magical plates of the Armour of Midnight, and few face the wrath of the Witch King and survive. Spoiler: Morathi After the Witch King himself, Morathi is the single most powerful Dark Elf in all of Naggaroth. Born to scheming and politics, and a talented sorceress, Morathi has spent five thousand years teaching her son all she knows of statecraft and magic, and works to maintain his grip on the throne of Naggaroth. Morathi is totally dedicated to her son, as he is to her. Between them they rule Naggaroth with an iron grip and bloodied sword. Morathi has always had the taint of Chaos about her – She met with Malekith’s father, Aenarion, when the Elven lord rescued her from a Chaos attack. Many believe that it was during her time as a captive that the insidious claws of the Dark Gods first crept in her soul. It was Morathi who founded the Cult of Pleasure on Ulthuan, which eventually led to bloody civil war and the cataclysm of the Sundering. Morathi was the first to perfect the Dark Art, opening up gateways to the realms of Chaos to steal vast and unimaginable powers. Combined with her stunning beauty and keen intellect, it is Morathi’s magical abilities that allow her to hold sway over her enemies. Queek has been groomed by Gnawdwell from the moment of his birth to be the ultimate warrior, provided with the best armour and weapons, protecting him from the other Lords of Decay, and also staging assassination attempts to keep him on his toes. Queek is an uncommonly bloodthirsty and egotistical warrior whose need to conquer even the most impossible challenges has since earned him an infamy amongst the annals of Skaven history as the legendary Headtaker, the Dwarf-Smiter, the greatest Warlord to have ever graced the tunnels of Skavendom. Queek’s temper is infamous amongst both his enemy and allies, having fought, defeated and survived almost every challenge that was thrown against him. Upon his trophy rack consists of the heads of all those that have challenged Queek in the past, such as the head of King Krug Ironhand of Karak Drazh, Warlord Ikit Scratch of Fester Spike, Warlord Sleek Sharpwit of Clan Mors and the hand of Baron Albrecht Kraus of Averland amongst other noteworthy challengers. Spoiler: Lord Skrolk Lord Skrolk, is one of the most legendary disciples of decay within Clan Pestilen and one of the 9 legendary Plaguelords. That Lord Skrolk walks the world is an affront to nature and a sign of the power of the Great Horned Rat. Plants wither and die where Skrolk treads and the very air seems to congeal and darken, as if stained by his baleful presence. Skrolk is ancient, having existed many spans of even the most long-lived of his foul kind. Rather than weakening with age, Lord Skrolk is possessed with a diabolic vitality that belies the years and the heaped diseases he carries. Indeed Skrolk is bent and gnarled by the weight of countless corruptions. The flesh that is not hidden by his tattered shroud is leathery and covered in a layer of dripping buboes. Even worse, the mysterious hunching growths promise something still more virulent. Each new pox only toughens the aged Plague Monk, who himself has become a disease that walks. Lord Skrolk is one of the Plaguelords, the rulers of Clan Pestilens under the direct command of Arch-Plaguelord Nurglitch, he-who-is-tenth on the Council.
