How does the coop campaign work for this? Anyone have any experience with it yet? Couple of my buddies and I were thinking about getting it specifically for the coop campaign but reliable info about coop is impossible to find.
Co-op is weird in this. For starters, it is only 2 player coop (like pretty much all Total War games). You also can't join the same factions as your friend so basically it's not even "true" coop. The closest thing to Coop is to pick two factions that don't outright oppose each other (examples: Empire & Dwarfs or Vampires & Greenskins) and do your best to stay out of each other's way. The game also punishes you (in terms of your relations with other sub-factions) for trying to be on friendly terms with factions that according to the lore you wouldn't be. I would say it's closer to "competitive coop". It's still fun, but it's definitely better to go in without preconceived expectations if you really want to enjoy it. There are people working on a mod that opens up all the sub-factions as playable so players can be in the same main faction, but I haven't heard of any working correctly yet. To be honest, I have yet to see what happens when three different main faction armies meet on the battlefield (ex. Humans, Dwarfs, Greenskins)... so not even sure how that would work. I assume that if two are allies they could fight together as one, but I have yet to confirm the game allows you to do this.
You can indeed. In my dwarf game I am allies with all dwarven and human realms (except Tilea, fuck those guys), have wiped out all Greenskins, and am work on the undead while our massed armies hold back Chaos. Allies come in as reinforcements as normal, but in AI control
the fact you have to buy it is a bit silly (its only 3 bucks though), and on the other hand BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
So there is a reason you have to buy it. Total War games want that Teen rating. If they were to give it away for free they would lose that rating.

They have been teasing that wood elves will be the next faction for a while now. They finally announced it and release will be on 8th December
