No prob, the game has a lot of depth and it is easy to get lost. I recommend everyone new to the game to read these posts if you haven't already:
They will help for the most important bits. Some of those points I didn't even figure out until 40+ hours into the game (ex. the horse "semi-autopilot" feature was one of those). The rest you should be able to figure out on your own. There are no in-depth wikis up yet, really. I've been taking screenshots of locations where I find witcher gear, but I'll put off posting those until someone really wants them.

So many alchemy mats wasted... I was wondering why my bombs kept saying 0/2 and wouldn't let me make more, so I'd drop the empty item and craft new ones.... :unamusedwhale:

This game may be giving me motion sickness, due to how close the camera is to his back and how jumpy it is. My head hurts and I feel nauseous after an hour. I hope I'm just tired...

Yes motion blur can be turned off.

What gets me is that the camera moves a bit when you move the mouse during cutscenes. I wish there was a way to disable that - granted I haven't looked yet.

man, so far I have to vehemently disagree that combat is fun in this game. It annoys the shit out of me that I have to craft like 5 different things using 15 different ingredients for every fight, and that for every fight the 5 different things and their ingredients are different. there also appears to be no way to tell what an alchemy ingredient bush has unless I memorize what each off the 50 different bushes looks like, and also hope to come across the right kinds of bushes enough to get however many of each fucking thing I need for one. single. potion.

There's also a bug with the latest patch that apparently fucks with your experience for quests

What difficulty are you playing on? I just tend to pick everything and if there is something I need, I just go around and try to find it. This has always been a thing in the series, and it is part of the what makes a witcher. They prepare for big fights with those things they make. I am playing on the 2nd difficulty level, and it is pretty forgiving, especially since you can regain health when meditating. You also only have to make your stuff once, then meditate and it will refill them I believe.

i know its a trademark of the series, but its not one I enjoy. I liked that in Skyrim, for instance, that part of the game was optional. the fact that its mandatory and feels like it just serves to pad out playing time. I realise its a gameplay/preference kind of thing, and I'm sure some people enjoy it, but I wish it was optional.

also, does anyone else have an issue where the game seems to randomly change what sign you have "equipped"? it happens to me constantly, and has gotten me killed quite a few times.

When you scroll your mouse wheel it changes your sign. You can always hold down tab which slows down time and allows you to change to a different sign.

ah, that might be doing it. I know about the tab thing, but that tends not to help when I've just used the seemingly useless cage sign instead of the knocking people down one and used up all my adrenaline and then I get clawed in half by a griffon.

Also, make sure to use the bestiary. It will usually tell you what signs are most effective against certain monsters.

I've also noticed that when on your horse you can only use the Axii sign but it reverts back to what you had it set for whenever you dismount.

Still not sure what you are talking about though. I have only ever had to worry about that for the big fights. Not for the stuff you find wandering.

guess I'm just terrible at the game then. time to turn it down to Diaper Baby Difficulty.
