http://tampa.cbslocal.com/2012/05/1...hes-giant-sea-creature/#.T6wiLrAOC6k.facebook This kinda creeped me the hell out...but I couldn't stop watching.
The article said something about it being one but regardless of what it is, I don't want it rubbing up against for any reason.
Steven Haddock, a scientist for the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in Moss Landing, Calif., says that the mysterious creature is a Deepstaria enigmatica jellyfish, much to the chagrin of some Reddit users who thought it was a whale placenta.
The eddies created by the sub is what are making it undulate, and actually turn it inside out at one point.
See, between this and reading way too much Lovecraft as a kid, I feel quite justified in never setting foot in the ocean.
The Great Old Ones call us to join them and to help ensure the coming of R'lyeh. Cthulhu wishes to awaken. We should help to disturb his slumber.
Could Aquaman control Cthulhu? Also, I was going to say, this looks like a relative to the jellyfish family, but it actually is a jellyfish. lol
Ok I better not summon the Old Ones by reading this shit out loud...on the plus side the looks on my co-workers faces are priceless
I think I'll make it a double feature tonight. "Dagon" followed by "In the Mouth of Madness". Maybe play a bit of The Secret World beta as well. All of which shall be in homage to the horrible nightmares the undulating abhorrence from the OP gave me.
Dagon was one of the better Lovecraft adaptations for movies. I'd also highly recommend From Beyond and Re-animator if not for the delightful B-movie-ness of it all then for the sheer delight of watching Jeffrey Combs act. In the Mouth of Madness is another great movie although I always felt it was stretching to be a Lovecraft inspired movie. Also, don't forget about Dreams in the Witch House.
