    Until they un-compress their maps its going to be spawn camp central still, no matter what line up changes they do.

    The changes might sound good but they will most likely turn out bad. The biggest problem is that it doesnt solve the problem that people have with the matchmaker.

    More accurately, it actual DOES address ONE problem with matchmaker, however, it's likely going to create a bunch of new ones, such as:

    You'll need 3x as many Shermans joining queue than Tigers. This means that 66% of the players who really want to drive Tigers will either be denied that basic right to drive what they want, or sit in queue until 66% of German players have had a go and only then get their turn.

    Wanna drive a SPAAG? - if this works, you'll be on of two (maybe three) SPAAG up against a premade mix of aircraft. This means premade unit abuse will run rampant.

    Premades, on the same note, will find matches faster if they engage in the current meta, meaning you don't get to play what you want to play in a group unless you're willing to wait. Moreover, a group of 4 Tigers will almost certainly face 12 Shermies with little to no support, meaning it will turn into a manoeuvring match. Try out-capping 12 enemy tanks with a Tiger.

    But who knows? Maybe it'll cut some frustration in playing T-34s/Shermies and being almost assured that you'll fight Tigers in equal numbers

    I can definitely see that happening, but I also see them increasing rewards for one side or the other to entice people to play the mode. I only wonder how they could do so and not favor one side or the other (Everybody gets +50% rewards for playing? Still not enough US/SR tanks. Reward only US/SR players? Nobody wants to play Germany, etc.) Eventually there'd be a disparity.

    If they do something similar to how SB was in the past (more spawns for US/SR tanks) then you still have the unbalanced "in action" forces actually on the field. A -slight- advantage in numbers deployed could make a difference, but only if the US/SR team is cooperative and doesn't AB all over the map.

    Truth be told, the game has paid too much attention to what WoT has done and is trying to emulate. No fault laid, it's a successful game. Just not one I want to play.

    Where I see a serious flaw in their logic is how battle-rating does not equal battle-effectiveness. You can throw all the 3.0 tanks into a match that you like, but if they face even 1/2 their number of 4.0's, they're not doing anything but dying.

    The entire BR system is broken. The BR a plane have is based on the player efficiency.

    One of the planes that suffers alot from this is the N1K2-J.
    The N1K2-J currently have a BR of 6.3 in RB and 5.7 in SB.

    The top speed is about 580 km/h. A plane with a BR of 6.3 have a top speed of 580 km/h. Let that sink in for a moment. The next BR step is 6.7 and thats were the jets starts. Most of the planes it fights can reach speeds of over 700km/h. Even the P-47D will easily beat it in speed what makes that even more fun is that the P-47D have a BR of 3.7.

    Now the strenght of the N1K2-J is its turning capability but that can only take you so far. It doesnt matter how good your plane can turn when you will never have a chance to shoot. Now that would be were we are if the players actually used the strenght of the american planes. but for some reason that is beyond my mind, they believe it's a good idea to turn fight a plane that can turn almost as good as a A6M (Zero). If they turnfight it a hundred times they will be clubbed by it a hundred times.

    The sad part is that the N1K2 is underperforming. It's missing 200hp, underperforming in turning, climbing, and at altitude. Gaijin keeps ignoring any documents shown about its actual performence. Before they would mention a specific document that was avaible to all but when the community went looking for that document and found out it didnt excist. Gaijin started ignoring instead.

    The entire thing have gone so far that it have turned into a joke and stuff like this is appearing.

    The N1K2 have ended up where it is because people are complaining that its to good and acting like the A6M was the only plane Japan ever had.

    The point i' trying to reach is that the BR system is going more and more towards "Good player in bad plane = Bad player in good plane". It sort of creates a handholding system for the nation with worse pilots rather then forcing the pilots to learn. The BR keeps getting reduced while the one with the good players keep increasing.

    It's even more obvious when they have a historical matchup and the handholding is removed. For example A6M5 vs F6F. The A6M5 usually just ends up slaughtering every F6F.


    Overall i find War Thunder to be an arcade game that will wave around the Simulator flag when it can earn something on it.

    That's how i have come to seen it and i hope that what i'm writing is making any sense. Just trying to vent some steam that builds up every time i play this game. Even though i will hate on it often i always tend to come back because it allows me to play Japanese planes with modern graphics.

    Ill probably only play again once ships come out. The grindfest in the later part of trees just isnt fun when you die really fast. Thus getting almost no xp.

    Wait what? This is news to me. I thought they were working on them. Did that part get canceled? I guess it makes sense if they want to stay a "simulator". A bit hard to simulate ship combat.

    Yea they said they cancelled ships like over a year ago. I think it was too hard to mesh tanks and ships. Planes and tanks, sure, planes and ships, sure. Tanks and ships? eeeh.

    Then dont mesh them? Though there is that one air battle map that does have all 3. Coastal english town. Though for ships thats almost point blank.
