Well, the little POS only runs 5/8 and has a crapton of armor, maybe he favored his odds head-on over getting shot in the ass running away.

None of which explains the Shadow Hawk running away from the Raven...

 

I thought that was my job...

Overall, I really liked the look of it. I hope the game has a span of multiple years (like 3015-3050) along the lines of the original Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. That is still my favorite single player campaign.

The sound assets were really full and I think it sounded as good or better than MWO.

The pace of the play seems a lot more like Classic BT and I will not complain about that, especially in a single player game. It will be really nice to have it back. Notice how few shots it took total to down the Raven.

Also there were a lot of nods to lore nerds of BT, for example the start up sequence. If it has to be lore vs good gameplay or a good game, I will surrender some lore. But lore fluff is what made a lot of us stay with BT for such a long time.

Also, being negative is par the course here because it is A) a PGI game and B) a battletech game. For good or bad, these are the things that brought and bring this community together.

If it is a solid single player experience in the BT universe I am hopeful. I am also hopeful that the transition to the Unreal engine will mean they may be able to do some kind of transition for MWO as well.

Time will tell.

Whatever naysayers say, PGI is still alive, still making money, and are the leaders in making sure that BT IP in videogames is still alive and well. It would be hard to argue intellectually that Battletech (the HBS game) could exist without a strong showing from PGI.

 

I was pretty impressed with colonial marines' trailer as well. We all know what happened with that pile.

 

I do not disagree Dihm. I would say this patch looks like the game that we would actually get (and thats within PGI's growing abilities) and not the mostly Cinematic video from the MW5 original trailer.

 

Looks the same but with a slightly different bit of effects and graphical quality.


if this is four to eight player coop capable, this would make a great game.



and the laser looked.. more laserish...

 

now that IGP is gone.. they seem to be doing much better.

they seem alot more focused and actually deliver now.

 

A damn good movie.

 

Smashing your own hands and feet with a ball peen hammer also is a hilariously goodbad time when you're on a cocaine and bathsalt induced rage binge.

So.. if this is 3015.

Wolf dragoons with Liao or Marik or begin as Liao and switch to Marik.

because i dont know if i want to fight them considering what year it is and the tech available, but they should be recovering if memory serves.


Also with no helm memory core.. thats quite a bit of tech left out unless they say the hell with it because the raven was in that trailer.


2018 release.. so we got a ways to go.
