They said were peace loving... yet supported rebel/terrorist activity that has killed countless Galactic Empire citizens.
I read something once that by destroying the death star they (the rebels) should have put the galaxy in a financial crisis and decades long economic depression. And destroying the second one should have made it even worse. So who on earth would want the rebels to replace the empire if that did actually happen. Most people would probably blame the rebels for the shit state the economy is in and rebel against them. Seems like it would spawn a never ending cycle of rebelllion.
who most probably didn't notice the "atrocities" of the empire. For most, everyday life it probably didn't matter the government.
That's why I had to stay away for a while, to not subject you to my eugenics program, my racial purity doctrine and the plan to make übermenschen great again. Alternatively that was a knee jerk troll, sorry about that. By the way, sort of back on topic and giving the inferior species and life forms a rest, what did Vader and Palpatine think about Death Star? https://www.quora.com/Why-did-Krenn...lpatine-himself/answer/Matti-Porkka?srid=zfqv Watch from 1:05 onwards: “Don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.” -Vader The Force is orders of magnitude more important and significant than "some impervious battle station that destroys planets". Think about that for a while!
Nope because we only see them from the rebels point of view. Never the empires or the normal citizens. Thus the quotations.
Actually... 3:20 onwards. "I want to be fight for a side I believe in" "What good is your uncle's work if the Empire takes it over?" "They've already started to nationalize the commerce in the central systems" "It won't be long until your uncle's just a tenant, slaving for the greater glory of the empire" Then there's the whole thing with them blowing up an entire planet for laughs to make a point for a princess and it doesn't stop there.
But alderan was supporting terrorists. They knew this. I also don't believe alderan had no weapons. Maybe not enough to wage a war.
Fet logic: "Sir, I think that chef on Alderan has a knife." "He's a terrorist! Nuke that shit from orbit!"
"We will win their hearts and minds, if need be by landing on their planet and tearing them right off of their heads and chests." "They killed one of our soldiers! Punish them!" 1:47:44 Direct link to right spot: www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8e0ijy1n04&feature=youtu.be&t=6464
For the greater good of the whole, cancerous planets that support terrorism must be delt with harshly so that it doesn't spread elsewhere.
Of course it is the only way to be sure. Also a way to get rid of any stray jedi who survived order 66. Won't lose any manpower this way.
A technician slipped to a bar of soap in the showed and died. It was the fucking Alderaans who made us come all this way with this battlestation. BURN, BURN RAGE OF THE HEAVENS BURN, BURN Death from above! Die! Die! Merciless killing! Own that shit.
So it's the lazy option. And we all saw how that turned out for them. Twice. At least they made a decent effort in Rogue One by sending out the storm troopers who actually had some training. Spoiler Or maybe they became nihilists after Rogue One since they saw how it didn't matter if they sent good troops or useless ones since they were all going to die anyway.
Nah. In episode 4 they suck at hitting the rebels (luke, han and leia) so they can escape and lead the empire to the rebel base. They were missing on purpose not crap training.
