Mondays are good for me and then there's a weekend you're available that too.. I already have something friday nights, and the three weekdays in between I'm on the other campus for classes until 9ish and when II get back it's either horse adventures or megamek. Also Jacob found this http://roll20.net/?utm_campaign=autopw on another thread and I agree it looks quite helpful. Unless you had another program in mind.
I found Roll 20 last night, and it looks so easy to use and simple I will probably use that. I have actually started building something on there.
With time changes i can play only from (gmt) friday afternoons to sunday afternoons, rest is no go for me most of the time.
My hubby and I are down to play, I'm thinking cleric, and he's usually a driud. Wednesday's are best for us, that or weekends.
Are you guys good with doing something pretty simple? I have a single pre-made adventure I was going to use. It is for Level 1 characters. So it looks like it is going to be the weekend or Wednesday, I have a wedding to go to this Saturday However Sunday I think I am going to be free. Unless we are doing Mega-Mek. If people are available Sunday we should get together on TS3 and at least get the party together.
I'm working sunday...:disturbed:. How late are we talking here? Don't get free until around 8 or 9 EST
Hey gizmo, I've DM'ed 4E and Next and played a little Pathfinder. 4E and Next are pretty easy to run as a DM, Next even more so since the ruleset is still relatively basic and you can play "theater of the mind" style. If you do want to run a table for mini's battles, I have also investigated a number of online virtual tabletops and found that for me, the simpler the better. Otherwise I waste a lot of time fussing with the tabletop. I use Gametable a free java VTT, search for Gametable Project and you'll find it. It's basic, but it works well I've tried MapTool, D20Pro, and a few others, and they can be powerful. But with that power comes a steep learning curve. I have not yet tried TableTopForge, but the integrated video and audio could be a nice addition. Anyway, good luck with your game. If I had more time I would join you or run a few sessions.
So we are going to get together on Wednesday at 9:30. Go ahead and roll your level 1 characters, use the chart for starting gold on pg 111 of the players handbook and purchase equipment, or take the starting package. PM me if you need more info.
Hi Ghizmo, I just popped into this thread to offer my support to the effort. I've had extensive DM'ing experience and have written modules for WotC for their FR and Greyhawk campaigns. I know the Pathfinder peeps and have played / judged that quite alot as well. If you need any help just ping me and I'll pitch in. Alas I can not make Wed night games as that is when my DnD group meets =D
I appreciate the advice. I will look at Gametable a little more in depth. At the moment I think I am going to use Roll20.
I have not done this before so any advice is definitely helpful. So I will probably be bugging you a lot lol.
Garl Glittergold, the Watchful Protector, his clerics teach that gnomes are to cherish and support their communities. Their pranks are seen as ways to lighten spirits and to keep gnomes humble.
... and give humans a reason to say "those damn gnomes..." Are we trying to build a balenced party or is this more of a show up with whatever and make it work scheme?
Ideally you want a balanced party, but this is more of a trial.. so I would not worry about it too terribly much.
Believe it or not, I just stumbled on this thread. If someone has volunteered to DM, no worries here. If you need a DM still, I play Pathfinder currently, have 4 evenings available in the week (M,T,W,H). I have played 3.5, very familiar with it. Also, I have DND Next info and wouldnt mind running it if everyone signs NDA, etc. Let me know!
Demon, I am only DMing because no one else has really come out saying they would like to. If you would like to take over DM, I would be happy to hand it over. I have never done this before and am trying to put something together to try it out. We are currently looking at Wednesdays to play.
