Mezzanine

I'm David, and this is my introduction. I'm 27 and living in Minneapolis, MN in the great Midwest. That's a fair chunk of the reason why I felt drawn to the FRR, and the other bit of it is an Old English class I took in college that piqued my interest in Old Norse and other similarly badass things like axes, shields, human sacrifice, verb conjugation, and the frozen North. Not necessarily in that order.

I'm a Navy/layoff brat, so I was born in Virginia, and lived in Idaho and Texas briefly. My parents are both from Niagara Falls, NY and we lived in western and upstate New York for several years when I was a kid as well. We moved to Minnesota when I started middle school and I've been here since, but I still have a bit of wanderlust and a love of the Road Trip.

My main experience with BT started as a young lad playing the tabletop with my older brother. My Dad was really into it and had made his own terrain with styrofoam and spraypaint, along with a DOS program he wrote to build mechs with. We'd make our custom mechs and roll the dice for an afternoon. Eventually I played each of the Mechwarrior games (MW2: Mercenaries was my favorite, but nothing beat the feel of MW3), and the first Crescent Hawk game. I never really got into the multiplayer for any MW game, but after trying the beta for MPBT: 3025 I never got over how awesome the whole concept was.
