Hey guys, Putting some feelers out there. I happened to run into Margaret Weis at Salt Lake Comic Con and bought the Firefly rules. Anyone interested in giving it a go (will be a few weeks, thinking Sunday). Also, just to rub it in, I have a 34x24 signed by Larry Elmore "Dragons of Norrath" I bought at the Con. He, Margaret, and Tracy and Laura Hickman were sharing a booth. It bankrupt me 8) But I have some good autographs!
Ooo.. love her books, or at least did when I was younger, haven't read many lately. And the Hickmans. Little jealous.
Firefly's system is actually quite basic. You have an attribute die (d6, d8, or d10) You have a skill die (d4 - d12) Sometimes you get another die for specialization or character reasons. You roll all the dice, keep the top 2. I haven't read much further than that yet 8)
I'm, as the kids say, hella jelly right now. My wife and I were planning on going to comicon in SLC, but it happened to be the same day that Oddball fest was in Utah. I just can't pass up a chance to laugh my ass off, and see some of my favorite comedians, for five hours straight. Still, I would've loved to meet Weis and the Hickmans in person.
Now, the downside of all this Comic Con stuff. I have about another 8 blogs to write and am still trying to catch up on sleep 8)
At this point I have neither the Drop Box set up nor any digital form of the rules. How many do we have that want to play? Again, just judging interest at this point. I have already been talked into running a local game every other week.
I'd be happy to join, but Sundays are... Sunday, Tuesdays might be more practical for me. Seeing as how the MW RPG has foundered.
I might be interested in this too. It would just depend on what day and if I can get a copy of the rules.
I can't do tuesday, football practice unless it's much earlier. I would have to leave at 5:00 p.m. PST (8 eastern)
Unfortunately, we can't really do any earlier or we will have a bunch of players not home from work yet 8( Sunday was a bust for various reasons. Sorry Bunny.
Alrighty, Tuesdays @ 8:30 eastern. I will be around to get those who are going to play set up. Creating characters this week. We will be playing on my Teamspeak and roll20 etc.
Just a quick headsup. Gaming should be good for today, I haven't heard of anyone needing to cancel. That said, there is a possibility i will be running a touch late. I have to get a few things done after the wife gets off work and it will be cutting it close.
