Wow.... Just wow.

 

The weird thing is that they've release exactly the same mechs as MWO. Atlas, Jenner, cicada, hunchback. Out of everything, what are the chances they would do the exact same mechs?

Also MWO designs blow theirs out of the water.

Lastly, you can get weapons with different heat/damage/reload modifiers?? And whether you get them or what chassis is totally random?? Wow, way to screw up what could've been a decent battletech game, now it just comes totally down to who's randomly rolled better equipment.

 

Do they have any news on when they'll have thier open beta? It looks interesting, altough between MWO and MM I don't know if I'l have time.

 

I'll try it, but not a fan of the random item attribute plus random item obtaining method

 

I'll check it out. The art actually doesn't bother me that much, and I can probably rationalize random item attribs somehow.

 

I'm still willing to try it, but I go in with low expectations.

 

I prefer the table top game/megamek. Would be cool if they could make Megamek 3d like that as a replay option... don't see anyone doing that anytime soon though.

 

I think I'll wait for release to give it a try. Looks interesting, but not THAT interesting.
TBH, the visuals remind me a lot of MechCommander 2. I liked that game. It was far from perfect, but it was very enjoyable lite BT strategy. Don't regret plying it one bit.

 

Anyone still have an extra key for beta? I would kind of like to try this out.

Interesting article about monetization in MechWarrior Tactics.

 

It looks like a cool game, but not a Battletech game. The unrecognizable mechs and random weapon stats make me wonder why they're even using the franchise at all. I'd much rather see Penny Arcade highlight MW:O, but they have a love for collectible card games...
