    RULING ON PRIMARY SKILL COSTS:
    -costs of old and new systems have NOT changed.
    -full XP reimbursement

    RULING ON SECONDARY SKILL COSTS:
    -some costs have changed; individual levels are more expensive now, but now there is only 6 levels instead of 8 (for some). total cost to max out is roughly the same.
    -old skills up to level three are "grandfathered in" (old level 3 = new level 3).
    -any old levels after that are reimbursed for their OLD XP cost

    RULING ON ABILITY COSTS
    -ability costs have changed
    -full XP reimbursement

    RULING ON OWNED UNIT CONVERSION
    -non-mech pilots can start with a mech equal to or less than the value of their former ride OR anything up to 4 million Cbills.
    -for mech pilots: this offer applies ONLY to your starter mech and ONLY if you still own it yourself (example: salvaged mechs are NOT covered for this)
    -your starter mech MUST be from the Introductory Tech pool.
    -if you are claiming a portion of former "lance funding", any leftover cash after purchasing your starter mech CANNOT be pocketed (you already got that back once).
    -only AFTER you have selected a starter mech can you apply any additional funds your character has to pay for any upgrades as usual using the new upgrade system.

    ALL changes are subject to review and must be approved by a GM!

    Question are we using the same Mech customization that we were going to in the Reunification War campaign? The 1 TP = $500k = cost for 1 slot items, 2 TP = 2 slot or bigger items?

    Ok question 2.. Says mechs must come from introductory tech pool. I went from XLs and ECMs to single HS and no cool toys. That aint quite fair. Can I atleast add back in double HS and such with my TP expenditure?

    um... i think you are forgetting a few other factors involved here:

    1) XL Engines are not a straight 1:1 cost regardless of rating. The 190 XL you had on your VTOL is WAY cheaper than on a mech. To put it in comparison, for the same tonnage and speed you would need a 330 XL in a mech. :p

    2) old non-mech characters may pick a new starter mech that is EQUAL TO OR LESS THAN THE COST OF THEIR OLD RIDE or 4 million C-bills... your choice.
    List of all vehicles we owned that were above 4 million (rounded to nearest 100k):
    -Harbinger P MkIII = 4.4 million
    -Harbinger R MkIII = 4.5 million
    -Harbinger S MkIII = 4.4 million
    (yeah.. its a short list)

    and for the record, old mech pilots must follow the same rules except they are limited to trading in ONLY starter mechs... not whatever cool mechs they've bought/salvaged since then.

    3) it is actually MORE fair if everyone starts with an introductory mech. Otherwise, it will be too easy to start with DHS and Endo Steel (both are VERY powerful updgrades) which I have purposefully made more difficult to get (as they should be). They are advanced tech you need to earn. The VTOLs were different in that they needed an extreme buff to make them even a viable option for regular players. Also, VTOLS are WAAAAY cheaper. Comparing them to mechs on any sort of 1:1 basis is a case of comparing apples to oranges. If you want to start with DHS, I suggest you save back enough TP to equip them after buying your starter mech. Same for an XL Engine... although I REALLY don't recommend it.

    4) as mentioned earlier, VTOLs still kind of suck in general. don't get me wrong... they have their place, but they are incapable of outright replacing mechs. chances are good even a well designed intro tech mech is overall a better warmachine than a VTOL. that's just the reality in the battletech universe. "the cool toys" you had before were there to make piloting a VTOL not a completely horrible experience for you... to put it simply, you VTOL guys were spoiled compared to the rest of us who had to slum it early on in our starter mechs. so yeah... its VERY FAIR. ;)

    There are more reasons as well, but I don't want to make this post any longer. feel free to catch me on TS if you need more explaination.

    I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with the best solution possible and so far I haven't heard any other complaints. "Unfair" seems the exact opposite of what I've done for you guys.

    Yeah but everyone else is not being required to give up their rides that they earned and paid for in time and resources. For the rest it is an option and have 1 or 2 mechs that they acquired in salvage or are keeping the mechs that they upgraded. All the salvage we got didnt offer the same opportunity to change rides or acquire upgrades. We are starting as veteran or elite pilots in the same mechs that fresh from the academy FNGs get. I dont want an XL for that matter was just using it as a frame of reference for the tech point we were at to where we are required to go to. Having the ability to buy a mech beyond what brand new people do is something I think the time invested does warrant but thats just me.

    Tzeentch doesnt seem to care and Haki doesnt appear to up for playing again so again its just me but thats the way I feel.

    You are ignoring a lot of facts (like all those mechs they salvaged but still have to BUY from the unit garage). Again, you are comparing apples to oranges. I will say nothing more on the matter here. I've given you plenty of very valid reasons why. If you care to discuss it more, do it with me on TS.

    NOTE: I recommend completely refunding Admin and then swapping Leadership for the Admin skill. this may sound like an odd way of doing things, but you will have an overall net gain of XP this way since individual levels are more expensive than they were before (the reasons for this are too complicated to explain here, trust me on this). The XP refunded for Leadership is also off (should be 7, 5, 4, and 14 for training cost; looks like you confused it for the new figures)... although this is a moot point if you take my above advice. Tactics lvl 4 Xp count is correct though.
