For lovers of You-Know-Who-lu, I recommend The Call of Cthulhu which was produced by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. It was shot in black and white, silent with subtitles (just like a film from 1926) and is extremely faithful to Lovecraft's story. Does a great job of capturing the mood on a shoestring budget. Oh, and it also has in the credits: and: Very cool.
I've seen many many Lovecraft movies and Lovecraft-inspired movies but I've yet to throw that one into the DVD player and watch it. And everyone says that it is a must see. As a rabi....er, avid H. P. Lovecraft reader I hang my head in shame.
I'm going to make it a triple feature after all. Just about to finish up "Dagon", so I think "Event Horizon" will make good background noise while I paint.
Tsk Tsk. Hey, I just realized that they actually have the entire movie available on IMDB! You an watch it there. Clicky Clicky!
Event Horizon. What a great movie. The only movie to ever have a scene that actually made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The video recording.....if there is a hell, that's how I imagine it would be.
