Hrm.... Only if I have the card in my hands first. And I'd rather keep my Mustang over the Aurora, if you don't mind.
Both the altruism of it and my recklessness favors the trade. However I do not know how posting things works and although I could make the swim I fear that the card would not endure sea water for prolonged period.
One tiny piece of advice if you decide to go with a non-stock CPU cooler... Plug it in with the stock stuff first and make sure it all works so you don't blow the warranty if (god forbid) your CPU is a dud. Then put in your fancy stuff.
Tomorrow, everything else should arrive. Case, power supply, motherboard, and grounding wrist strap. So the building might begin sometime tomorrow afternoon! Stoked!
Alright, after having to endure a lost hard drive (and subsequently having a new one shipped over night, while getting a refund for the old one), I should be able to start building tonight. My motherboard and said hard drive are on their way as we speak. Here's the case. I'm itching to be inside of it...
Well... in the rear of the case, there are 2 thumb screws. Unscrew those, then slide the side panel to the rear of the case. This should allow you to then remove the side panel. Thus allowing you access to the inside.
Which Antec case is that? Looks close the the 900 I've got, but with two smaller fans along the top instead...
Oops, may bad. I've actually got the 1100. No wonder they look so similar. Same size too, just different fan setup.
Yeah, this one has the two top fans (120 mm) as well as one rear. I installed two additional 120's in the front, last night. Did you use all your fan slots, Trev? Or just stick with the stock number that came with the case?
Nah, just stuck with the stock number. It's pretty dusty around the processor heat sink right now, so it's idling around 38 C core temp. Before the dust build up it was idle temp of about 30 C. My current planned upgrades are: Filtered Case, either full tower or 3/4 tower, 16 Gigs of RAM, one extra HDD of 1TB of size or greater, and a GTX 970.
The first 1100 didn't come with any filtering? This version of it came with two filters. Upgrade to V2!
Haha! Victory! She's up and running. Just about to install the GFX card drivers and such. The experience wasn't so bad. Had an issue at first with the monitor not detecting the VGA output, but fixed it. I'll post a picture in a bit. Thanks again to all who helped me along this process! CW is a GO!
Believe me, nobody but you gives a damn about your cable management, or lack thereof . As long as the wires aren't fouling any fan blades, you're good to go.
Oh, if you have a choice for your monitor of something other than VGA, use it. You will loose quality with it. Use DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort if you can.
HDMI should be available on about any recently built monitor. And no you don't need to buy a $60 HDMI cable, the cheaper ones work just fine.
