I like FMA: Brotherhood very much 'cause it has excellent balance of action, silly humor and drama. Add great story, very likable and varied cast of characters and interesting world and you have a winner. And I seriously need to get back watching Space Dandy to end. Dropped it a while ago. Been watching second season of Mushishi and it's just amazing how good it is. Pretty much every episode is tranquil and melancholic feels-trip about world filled with "spirits" called Mushi and people trying to get along with them.
Never watched FMA : Brotherhood, I know of it was good though. I watched the version before it and I could just barely get into that one. I dropped Mushishi after the 2nd episode. I just couldn't get into it, just remember that it dealt with sake making and spirits. If you are looking for another anime that deals with alcohol "Bartender" is a really good anime. I finished space dandy. The longer it went on the more it seemed that they were lost on how to keep going with the show. I watch every first episode of the season or skim through the less appealing ones. From there I decide what to watch and it normally goes down to about 4 to 6 shows a season. I have only ever forced myself to watch one anime and that was to try to get a idea on why they keep making another one every year. I don't understand it as it just wasn't that good of a show. Each episode followed the same basic formula except for the ending. 1:00 the problem the characters are set to solve during the show + 1:30 intro + 8/9 minutes of story for character development + 1:30 transformation sequence + fight scene 8/9 minutes + 1:00 what the characters learned + 1:30 ending = 23 minutes 30 seconds of show every episode followed this formula to a T, it got extremely boring, I have no clue why they keep making new versions of this damn stuff. it is from what I know extremely popular with the older otaku that can afford to spend money on longer shows, shows that last 3/4 seasons. It was Precure and we will never speak of this again.
FMA:Brotherhood is quite different from the original 2003 anime. Follows the manga more faithfully. I can't personally watch the original after the Brotherhood.
Been watching it too and so far I've enjoyed it. It's nothing super special, but it's entertaining series. Also, I haven't felt bad for bad guys death in a long time. Akame Ga Kill fixed that. You probably know who I mean so I'm not spoiling.
I recently started watching Sword Art Online II, and I gotta say the entire Gun Gale Online arc made up for past shortcomings. The more recent episodes aren't nearly as exciting but there's been some good character development, so I'm sticking with it. Also, still great music and animation quality. Obviously General Esdeath. Poor misunderstood mass murderer, all she wants is love.
Its crazy though. Half the night raid (at start) is dead. And the two "replacements" as well. The violence isnt the crazy part. Its the numbers of good guys dying. For sheer violence (of what i have seen) is gantz.
Well, I watched my first episode of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. And I've taken away two things already. First, now I know why I've been so confused by images of the show being used while having very different art styles. And second, this show does not care about boundaries. Holy shit. I love it, and am repelled by it at the same time. Give me more!
I'm not even a techno/club music person, but after a couple of episodes, it's starting to catch on for me.
anyone else watching Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu? anime with parasites that take over peoples bodies. but the main character the parasite only took his right hand.
Currently watching Terraformars. Only on episode 10, but it's decent so far. The trick is finding a decent uncensored version.
I am assuming the chick with Pink/purple hair is the American version of a hipster? Her opinions on anime are CLEARLY biased, to the point of being annoying.
She is what is known as the Californian yippie mountain hipster. You can tell by her pink hair, horrible looking sweater, glasses, and her comments on over sexualization of woman.
also she thinks sailor moon is the best thing ever. i mean it's not bad but it's not great. I think it just took to long to get anywhere. The little bit of the new one I've seen is better just because it moves faster. and someone else mentioned DBZ. theyve seen anime before.
I'm not sure some people realize DBZ is anime. It came out in the states before the anime craze really got off, so if you don't track of things, it might be easy to miss that.
