Kind of surprising that Nintendo is almost worse than EA. It is bad enough that EA is paying people for coverage... but at least they are not penalizing people for sharing their games.
Heck, I can see why! Playing and watching people play Mario Party's is Class-A entertainment! Take that away by being a dick and this is what you get.
Oh yeah, Nintendo's youtube program is aweful. Nintendo literally said "we're willing to share some of the profit you make off your videos", as if they were entitled to all of it and are being nice about sharing a fraction of it with the youtuber. And that's not even touching the fact you need to sell your soul to to nintendo in the in order for video to be given the thumbs up through a 3 day approval process.
Well it makes sense when you think about it from Nintendo's perspective. If you were on YouTube and found a bunch of guys playing Mario Party and could just watch the intricacies of its complex and nuanced plot unfold for free, why would you need to buy it yourself?
Because it is something you are supposed to play to get the full enjoyment of it. This isn't a movie or tv show DVD that you copy and show lots of people. That's like saying you should pay a trampoline manufacturers money because you watched someone jump on a trampoline. Do you pay every car manufacturer money for seeing their cars on the road while you drive. Do you pay lawnmower companies money when you see them on the side of the road doing their job.. No.. Why? Makes no fucking sense... This is a video game that is multiplayer and to say you have to pay Nintendo money for you to post a video of you and your friends having fun is stupid.
I hear it costs around 1$ to sniff the air outside a restaurant, you know those scents ain't free, they worked hard to create them and they got rent to pay.
for some reason now I want to make a youtube video playing mario party with blurred screen and useless censor bars so as to protect Nintendo's right to be a douche.
Just make a instructional video on how to "properly" make a video showcasing Mario party and just censor where the tv is and all the sounds coming from the game.... Wait they will get you on the use of the name... Damn... Their really is no way to do this.
nah, I'd just noise cancel the game and I'd call it 'that party game from that company that is being giant douchery'
The only rogical concrusion we can draw from this is that Nintendo is secretry run by Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un.
