Even though Stellaris is my 4X fix atm, ES2 looks pretty good. I really liked the first despite its oddities and some flaws but didn't play it nearly as much as it probably deserved. I like that Amplitude are trying to do their own thing in 4X's with Endless Space. Might wait for a bit and see how peoples reaction are overall. If it builds on first one's foundation while adding new stuff and mechanics, I'm interested.
Sweet. Had a great time with the first one--just depends whether ES2 or Stellaris has a killer sale first!
Having played around 8 hours today, I really like the pacing of this ES on normal and the AI is challenging on normal as well. Turn 54 marked the start of my 1v1 war with the plants, turn 210 it still continues with victories and reverses for both sides. And best yet, no signs the Ai is cheating to develop those victories of theirs. Vision is extremely limited so scouting with probes even late game is important, thus your early game ships aren't useless later on. Keep them out of engagements if you can to keep churning out that intel.
