    We're basically back to an old problem. A really shitty, dishonest company produces a (hypothetically) good product. Do you look past what they've done and buy it anyway?

    That's a personal decision for everyone here. At the moment, I'm on no. But I've also bought Nestle candy bars and shopped at Walmart in the past, so I don't have the right to judge anyone who says yes.

    Sure. Once it's on steam and 75% or higher sale. So I probably will ask for a refund simply because the preorder is worthless to me now. I got the $50 one. I think that is pretty much only the game and beta access. Since I will not download epic. The beta is pointless.

    I'm a yes and no. I will not be buying the game full price. I'll definitely be waiting until it comes out on Steam and goes on sale. I want to play MW5, but I want PGI to have as little of my money as possible at this point.

    Going to keep mine. but not join Epic until Beta. If beta is online only, then I'll not play until the game is out and you can play offline using the exe. Won't need Epic to play at all. in the case of coop we can do direct connection without using Epic at all. Hoping Norton, Spybot and Malwarebytes can remove anything Epic injects to my system.

    I'd rather pirate the game than give those asshats my money. I won't, mind you, but if I wasn't patient that would be the only way I'd play.

    I'm in a battletech international facebook group (all things battletech but a bit more focused on the lore/tabletop). But I've seen quite a few people saying they will pirate it.

    This is a good point. Based on the information we know so far, MW5 will be a "complete game", meaning no login checks to PGI or Epic Store... only that you have to initially download it from Epic. Once it's downloaded, theoretically, you could uninstall Epic Store, but I am not certain of this. Not recommending it, of course (based on concerns of Epic store spyware), but that is an option.

    I've always felt that pirating a game only sends the wrong message to developers. While you may be saying "I'm not buying your game because you are being an asshole", devs usually read the result as "we need to add DRM to our games so people don't pirate".

    But assuming there is no last minute DRM included, I think pirating MW5 might work too. Not condoning it; would only do that as a last option.

    35 min mark. Talks about direct connection and lan play. Glimmer of hope.

    43 min mark Modding support.

    101 min mark. Wait 12 months get steam key and other goodies. But only one or the other. Steam or EGS.

    110 min mark More chat about peer to peer connections and LAN play.

    112 min mark Beta is only an instant action mode. Maybe coop?

    I've had one guy tell me that it has been confirmed "no", but I'm not going to go off the word of a single stranger.

    I'm not sure about MW5 but Phoenix point said for them you could uninstall EGS and still run PP (as long as you move it out of the EGS directory). It will probably depend on how MW5 does it. But f there is no login to anywhere I would say probably yes you could uninstall EGS. The problem with that is updates (patches, DLC whatever) would still have to be done through EGS.

    They really haven't announced it either. I'm a preorder backer and the last email I got from PGI is from April 29th reminding me that the backer presale was almost over. No notice of cancelling Steam release for Epic exclusivity, no notification of the refund window.
