For those of you who live in caves, NASA landed a new 1.5 ton rover on Mars last night, fully equiped with what I can only assume is a small pulse laser. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2408085,00.asp For those of you in the TS channel last night that watched the landing with me, I found out who this gentleman is: He is Bobak Ferdowsi, the missions flight director
Immediately after touchdown Bobak disappeared. I'm still convinced he immediately went to "discuss landing details" with the asian chick from reentry.
Mars landings are awesome! This was very exciting news, so glad that the mission has been a success, and looking forward to additional SCIENCE!
yea ... was a bit annoyed that the mohawk lifestream did cut to some mars stuff in between ... its a bit liked ads on tv in between the movie pieces @thread the pic looks like its firing an ER large laser (in MW3 color schemes)
We need more science based celebrities and less sex-tape based ones. Why not a flight director with a sweet 'hawk

Reactor, Online... Sensors, Online... Weapons, Online... All systems nominal. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lan...uriosity-vaporizes-rock-with-laser-video.html Also, I was right! The laser fires in pulses! It's a pulse laser!
I just want to know what the guy who "pressed the button" said before it happened. My guess is, "SHAZAM!"
