Gratz. Only had an intro course of sociology and I basically slept through it but then thats intro not the higher stuff. My dad has a masters in sociology phd in toxicology but he says sociology is what people did back in the 70s. So not sure how to take that.
Congrats Deathwatch. Protip: Don't blow money on textbooks until you're sure you need them or if the professor is even going to use them.
Also, PDFs. Especially for books that you'll only use a couple of chapters out of. Buy only the books that you either like or think you'll have use for in the future.
I don't know what Amazon is like internationally, but my textbook for my masters class was like $70, and I got it for $8, shipped, used and in very good condition.
That's excellent advice and I'll take it! Thanks! I'll be absolutely bloody strapped for cash as it is. My dad says he's not giving me any money and my mum barely makes any money as it is. I'm going to have to get some sort of job before my savings run out, which may be before the end of the first year! D:
I don't know if Chegg.com works internationally or not but it's another route to go if you want to rent instead of buy. cheaper plus you don't have to deal with the BS of colleges not buying back books at the end of the semester. Dunno if that happens in europe where the college decides to use a new textbook but ens up only using for one semester so the next semester that same class is using a completely different textbook so annoying when that happens. just bought a brand spanking new $250 textbook and they won't buy it back!
Hey, you guys should try http://www.allbookstores.com/. Just hit the ISBN or title and they go from chegg to amazon and lots of others. They are very helpful. Congratulations Death.
