Sooo... This might be slightly off topic in this thread, but I didn't want to make a whole other one... I might be getting a job offer from Avis Car Rental ( as a tech ), and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them? Not so much how they are to work for, because it'd be a real shot in the dark to think anyone here has or ever did, but how you guys got impressions of them as customers.
I've never worked for them, but in my job I've traveled extensively for the past decade. I've tried all of the major rental car agencies for varying lengths. The one I found that I liked the most and stuck with was Avis. I'm in the premier club. They've always done right by me.
When I finish my education and get a job first car I want to buy is a Honda CRX and tune up to look pretty much like this: Spoiler I dont know why but I have a thing for older cars. I would not want this car just until I have money for a newer and better one I WANT IT! And I am pretty much the only one of my friends who thinks like that ^^. I guess I am young on the outside but already old on the inside .
My upholstery project for -79 Olds Cutlass was finally finished back in Nov so now I'm thinking about getting a new car to tamper with (probably something full-size, Olds 88 has crossed my mind on numerous occasions). Here's some links to pics of the ride though: And the upholstery: I've had this as my only car and been surprised to see that there aren't any real problems with it even though the temperature here for the past week has been between -20 and -30 degrees centigrade. I've gotta change the battery though, since it doesn't seem to share the carefree attitude towards freezing temperatures as the rest of the car does.
My baby - Genesis Coupe 3.8 track Sorry for the crappy pic, only one I have available right now, since I'm at work.
You guys have some interesting cars, loved the chevy and incidentally I like US pick ups, seriously don't go hating on them, you guys are so lucky you get F150s and Avalanches and so forth, whilst still having petrol prices which mean you are able to have them. I like how the F150s now get more modern and European looking interiors which wouldn't look out of place on a 4 door sedan or Saloon in Europe. As for that bike thing with the monster engine, lots of lulz but seriously, if you like bikes don't mess around, buy Japanese, get a GSX-R or CBR and just do it. On your roads over there, you would be in heaven. Faster than a stabbed rat, moves like a switch-blade knife in the hands of a coke dealer. Get a back pack or a sports tourer (Africa Twin) and imagine crusing up the PCH... Like the Mini cooper, too. Very European. Anyone with a Scooby, please do lets see her.
Was anybody else drooling at last week's Top Gear episode featuring Hammond reviewing the Pagani Huayra? DAMN that car is badass!
Haven't seen that episode yet, but Huayra looks really good. Btw, talking about Paganis, my "unrealistic" and inpractical dream car: Pagani Zonda R
And my realistic dream car: 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Station Wagon Power, sound, style and practicality? Yes, I have all of those, thank you.
Three cars ago this was my runaround, pretty standard but didn't want to spend much as was saving up for the Skyline: Two cars ago was my R33 GTST Skyline running around 420bhp: Last car was a 2001 SAAB 9-5 2.0 Turbo running about 220bhp...no pics that I can find and current car is my 2008 SAAB 9-3 Vector Sport diesel.....pics at home somewhere...
I like the R33, am I right in thinking they are all rear drive only? As opposed to the R34? What have you done under the bonnet to give it that sort of poke??
R32 GTS/GTST are RWD and either 2.0/2.5 NA or Turbo R33 GTS/GTST are RWD are same as above. R34 GTT is RWD and 2.5T The GTRs are AWD...and 2.6 Twin Turbo I have a list somewhere....all told almost £10k was spent over two years. Am not much of a mechanic but had good mechy friends to help out when I can find the list will edit this post. Mainly a uprated hybrid turbo, tomei poncams, apexi induction kit, ecu and handcontroller etc.
Merged car and motorcycle threads. I got my new helmet today, will post pics when camera battery charges tomorrow. Icon Variant Salvo in silver - stock pic:
a vid of my car running last summer. I was at 9lbs of boost with a shitty tune. Now I'm at 12lbs of boost and a solid tune. I now run 13.8 @ 108mph (my car is the black with red stripe cobalt)
