I'm going to get something new for school and was looking at 2-in-1 setups. I've got a tablet currently and there are things I do and don't like about it and the 2-in-1 concept seems to fit very well for what I want. I'm mostly just going to use it for web browsing, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. I also use my tablet a lot for reading e-books which is another reason the 2-in-1 appeals to me. Not worried about gaming other than maybe MegaMek which is not resource-heavy. Price is a big concern, got to keep it less then $500 and preferably less than $400. Any thoughts, reviews or suggestions would be welcome. I've also looked at standard laptops and may go that route as well.

Here are a couple that I'm looking at:

    ASUS Transformer Book T100

    HP Pavilion x360

My dad has the Transformer T100. It is not bad, the processor is a bit weak. But it does most basic things. The keyboard is a little flimsy, and kind of tough to type on. But that is no different then any small laptop/tablet. For the money though, it is a pretty good deal. My dad has made it his main PC. He has a case for it, which causes some issues with the keyboard connecting. If there is anything at all between the tablet and the keyboard it tends to do the disconnet/reconnect dance for a while.

Good to hear. I like how the HP just flips over so you don't have to worry about where you leave the keyboard or connecting issues like you just mentioned.
