Arma 3 Karts

The first DLC have been released for Arma 3.

You can either buy just Karts or a package that also includes Arma 3 Helicopters and Arma 3 Marksmen which are to be released at a later date

Arma 3 Helicopters is scheduled for release in September 2014. Arma 3 Marksmen is planned for the first quarter of 2015. Estimated release dates are still subject to change.

 

Wait wait wait. This is actually DLC from Bohemia and not a mod?

 

It is indeed. It's a $2.00 DLC that releases go karts. It was originally an April fool's prank, but it appears that people wanted it enough that they went ahead and released.

I tried to make a new course on the multiplayer map last night but Arma is frustrating. I'll figure it out one of these days.

 

Skwi, when we get the Idris map done and loaded, we're driving go karts through it.

 

We could totally do a Altis Cup series across the island. Courses could include:

Almyra Aridway
Kavala Chaos
Runway Roundabouts
Mountain Mayhem
Swampland Showdown
Charkia Clusterfuck

I also propose the finish line be lined with mines. I don't know if karts can set off AT mines, but we could use AP in a pinch. The AT would be ideal because of the delay. The winner would probably clear the blast zone, but anybody else behind them would likely get blown to hell.

I won't be impressed until powerups grant my kart HMGs

 

HMGs with head tracking? Or could we mount the HMG directly over the driver and have the gunner stand on the spoiler?

 

What I would love to do but don't think I have the time to build is a complete circuit around the entire island, broken down into stages similar to a rally event like Dakar. Each person races each stage separately and posts their time, and the overall lowest time around the entire island would be the winner.
