HINT: The Virtual Arsenal has all of our mods (except XMed) in the inventory, so you can outfit your soldier there. I haven't found out if you can export it to VAS or not but at least you can get everything ready and know what you're going to use.
Another interesting note: Massi's custom 7.62 ammo mags are lighter than vanilla mags. Very useful for NATO weapons, carry more with Massi mags but be able to reload and scavenge vanilla mags if needed.
Do the Massi 7.62 mags have the same lower power we found with the Scar-H mags vs the vanilla 7.62mm mags?
Go to the Virtual Arsenal, build out your character and click "Try" on the bottom right. It takes you to an empty VR room and shows you real time graphs for your weight load, fatigue, ground speed and something else, I think health? Anyway as you run around it will show you how fatigued you get as a percentage in real time and also how long it takes to rest back.
Boot camp is dangerous. I just know I'm going to spend hours in the Virtual Arsenal tweaking and perfecting loadouts.
I have this sneaking suspicion that this is just the beginning of something beautiful. Or at least more DLC's and another sequel.
I did some testing to see how the chest selection holds up against the F2000A at 20m. I Picked the F2000A as its the weakest standard rifle we're likely to come against, and is a good starting baseline for tests. Below are the results. All the Carrier rigs protect for 2-3 rounds (Except the press one, which gives zilch in protection) Tactical Vests, despite being funny looking, Provide the same great protection as Carrier rigs. 2-3 Rebreathers also protect for 2-3 rounds All the harnesses Protect for 1-2 rounds, with the chest rig getting a special mention since it's exposed upper body gets not protection at all. The Raven Vest surprisingly underperforms compared to the tactical vests and only protects for 1-2 rounds. Slash bandoleers (in case someone wants to use one for some ungodly reason) Couldn't protect you against wet paper. lethal on the first round. no protection It's an important sidenote to point out as well that the few armors that provide the crotch-flap does soak damage with that flap. Also, though the chest rigs and harnesses protect less, they also offer more space in exchange, making them more ideal in situations where a pack wont be available (Helo paradrops for example.)
Very nice! I'm planning on doing some in-depth vest testing as well, but in the quick time I played with them last night that was generally what I found as well.
Vest Capacities! Done with volume of only vanilla 5.56 mags. Special Mention to the GA Carrier GL Rig (Digi) for good capacity and what seems to be the highest ballistic resistance.
