Zombie Mech - Survive a round with both torso's destroyed and no weapons remaining. It's Only a Flesh Wound! - Survive a round missing both arms and one leg.
Can we get an award for a negative score at the end of a round? We can name it after Fet. Or "I had too much mead this day" Award
Terror Ribbon - Unintentionally getting an opponent to disconnected simply by announcing we are SoR in chat at the start of a match. Order of the Pie - Capturing an enemy base solo with a Fatlas. Smaug's Claw - Defeat an opponent dragon with a commando solo on any map whilst within a cave. Addiction Star - You received divorce proceedings due to playing MWO.
This one actually has potential, as it is way easier to document than all these others. Although, I'm not really sure it DESERVES a ribbon, just SCORN.
I didn't say ribbon, I said award. You could also do a large and noticeable post in announcements each time.
What about a "Class Master" where if you master 6 chasis (from 3 different mechs) in the same weight class? Not just get it so it says master, but actually unlock the module slot? Could do it for lights/meds/heavies/assaults. So "Light Pilot Mastery" or some such thing. I know there aren't 3 assaults out yet, but Stalker should be out next month.
To build on that idea, maybe have an award that is achieved when you master a chassis from each weight class and call it Jack of All Trades or something.
The only problem I see with that is some players prefer a certain play style which all the mechs in a weight bracket may not necessarily lend themselves to. For example, I enjoy getting in close in brawling fests and often pilot the hunchback and the centurion in this role. Now if I wanted to get my 'Medium Pilot Mastery' that would necessitate me piloting the cicada which doesn't exactly lend itself to my slugging match style, instead I am more likely to spend my limited c-bills and mechbays on a shiny new cataphract or atlas which would perform more adequately for me. Not to say that branching out is a bad thing, it just seems that with the current crop of mechs certain weight classes are better suited for such a medal than others.
That's the whole idea behind my idea, to get people out of their "comfort" zone if you will. It's not something that anyone would HAVE to get or be forced to do. It's just to get people who may want the award to get out of their comfort zone. IE right now not many people willingly go for the commando. You can learn a good deal by doing something different
Also remember that these ribbons are just fluff to make you guys feel special. You won't be looked down on or "held back" for NOT getting them.
Since these are a little too easy... lets COMBINE THEM! "It's Only a Flesh Wound!" - Survive a round with only head, CT, and 1 leg... none with remaining armor.
