    Periphery have "houses" just not considered one of the great houses of the snobby innersphere.

    I sure you will be able to take contracts from periphery houses.

    Actually some of them are actually houses examples include the Magistracy of Canopus (House Centrella) and the Rim Worlds Republic (House Amaris now defunct). Actually all of the major and medium powers in the periphery barring Nueva Castille are controlled by a royal house nominally descended from the Star League. Nuevo Castille is also based on a nobility system though

    This is a single player game with a defined storyline. It won't be in the Taurian Concordat

    I thought it was a self defined story based on what contracts and from who you take them from?


    Or is it all just prescripted nonsense that fools you into thinking that you have a choice.

    The way they described it is that depending on how you negotiate, what missions you take for who and against who, will dictate what missions will or will not be available to you as time goes on.

    They make it sound like you can choose which house to take missions from or from who ever.



    so it is actually more just following a fed storyline and you just completing missions.

    It is not a 'make your own story from randomly generated contracts across the entirety of known space' based game

    So in the interview with harebrained anything said from 1:30 to 2:20 should be taken with a grain of salt.

    What I imagine is more like MW1.

    In MW1 you had a basic set storyline, but you also had the freedom to pick and choose many contacts along the way.

    Thats what I'd guess too, basic over-arching storyline with your choice of missions in between. Whether it'll really be 'wander anywhere' or just a set of choices based on your previous choices and outcomes will be the question. Maybe the major plot points will depend on your choices as well, like which side you fought for, who won, etc, but it won't be 100% pure sandbox.
