So to my knowledge, the nickel-ferrous slugs of a gauss rifle are not explosive and therefore cannot cook off... so why does MW3 put CASE as default on mechs like the shadow cat... Also, just out of curiousity anyone played Mechwarrior 3?
My thought would be... CASE is standard for all Clan Mechs and costs no extra tonnage or critical slots.
The gauss rifle shells aren't going to cause an ammo explosion but if the gauss rifle itself is damaged it can trigger an explosion exactly like ammo would.
This. Clanners get CASE no matter what because with the modular systems of Omnimechs there is always a possibility that any location could store ammo so CASE is automatically added to the structure during construction. Silly Clanners. Don't they know ammo explosions are fun?
The Battletech universe would have made a lot more sense if the Clanners were all 1m tall. There's just this '90s 'roid-rage overcompensation feel to them. *holds index finger and thumb about an inch apart* Y'know?
No. No. That was just unfortunate. And hilarious. But a good lesson to learn in a for-fun match. Overheat = Boom when chemical-propelled ammo is concerned.
yeah, concider it a lesson learned. I've always had that problem though...even when i played MW games I'd always alpha strike and damn the concequences LOL but being much older now its a lesson learned
