As the title, what is the cheapest laptop you can think of that can play MWO on max settings at ~45 fps? (Or failing that, your best recommendation for reasonable play) One key thing, if 'cheapest' is £XX.XX, and next cheapest costs slightly more but is much more reliable / otherwise better, I'll get that. I've already got a gaming headset and mouse I can use.
not sure what price you consider cheap, but the the gaming series from ASUS (G55VW) work very well on all games I played on it. It can handle fraps and full settings MVO. It's not the cheapest around but it has really good hardware for the price.

All though it sucks now, at the time when I purchased it, it was a beast for a notebook. EDIT: Just to clarify. Sager builds their notebooks from the same components ASUS, Alienware and HP build theirs. You just pay a bigger price in their case due to the name brand. I can also testify that Sager or rather XoticPC from where I ordered my lap has an excellent customer support.
I second Vorban, I have a friend with a 4 year old Sager that has been really reliable and played almost anything for at least 3 and a half years. In fact, most of the botique custom game builder site have laptops which are actually rebranded Sagers (cyberpowerpc and ibuypower in the US). Another option (if they are sold in England) might be MSI (monster stats, but kind of pricey and I know nothing about their reliability). I don't know how the prices in the UK will work out, but I would say a Sager or Asus would be a better bet (in bang per pound terms) than a Dell Alienware, HP, or (god forbid) Apple.

This is a way better deal than anything I saw on UK amazon.
Another word of advice. Don't be scringy on the GPU. It will bottleneck your system before any other component as in my case.
