The group on Dragon is still going well (sorry, had friends there before launch). Just waiting for my wife to level up (she is a little slow). Just hit 44 with my mage though. Big Bada Booms.
dug around a bit more and found out that the display name issue is happening to a number of people, mostly when trying to get their founders packs. So far they say submit a ticket and hopefully in 1-4 days you might get it sorted out, and no matter how many times you call the billing department you will never get a person only a recording.
Something usefull to read if your playing, http://www.reddit.com/r/Neverwinter/comments/1dry0g/neverwinters_f2p_model_what_you_need_to_know/ Some things mentioned i knew but the high lvl stuff like how much time and real money you need use for some things in this game. I know its possible for them to change but seriously.
Personally I don't really care. Knowing myself I'll get bored by end-game fairly fast so all in all I've gotten several days of entertainment for free. Not a bad deal. And even if I keep going back for a dungeon run here and there I will do it for fun, not to get the best loot available. Also, you should be able to get the best enchants for free no? Only that you wont get a 100% chance of succeeding. Ah well, while I understand why some people might get pissed at this I'll most likely having just as fun without the best of the best gear, and in the end it's about the journey and not the destination for me.
What kund said. I doubt I'll sink a single dollar in to this game ever. But it's a fun distraction now and then, and totally free (the way I'm playing it).
I don't mind too much because I'm really not that interested in PvP at all in this game. I'm mostly interested in the PvE and Foundry, which don't really require you to have "THE BEST GEAR"
I do not have a problem with it, it is grind vs money spent. I really have no way of checking his math, so I cannot comment on that. I would think you could do it for less then what he is talking about though. Think about how long people went in WoW or Rift looking for a couple of pieces of gear. Its basically the same thing.. you just do not have to pay a monthly fee. But if you want to pay what equates to a monthly fee, you can get it quicker. I still think the lifeblood of Neverwinter will be the Foundry. Once they expand the toolset and add more bells and whistles I think it will be pretty amazing. Not quite Tabletop but the mission we did the other night was pretty good.
I'm guilty of spending $10 on it. Opened several chests, got enchantments etc. That said, and granted 47 isn't end game, but I haven't felt the need to spend any more money than that. If you really felt the need, do the daily quests to get ADs, then trade your ADs for Zen.
Agreed with the above, game is fun and grinding doesn't really feel like grinding. Sure I'd like to have a giant spider to run around on but I don't feel like the things available for Zen are necessary to have fun with the game.
I don't plan on spending anything on this game, I'm enjoying it free and I plan to continue doing so, who needs the best gear when the PvP is not interesting in the least anyway?
Speaking of foundry, I'm about halfway done with one I've been fiddling with if anyone is interested in play testing it for me when I'm finished.
I will putting a quest series together also, but I have to actually do some work first. I have got to get this section of the tournament done this week.
Just tell me when it's done and I'll test it...as long as it only needs 1 player, otherwise, I'm boned.
I'm planning on it being solo. The way the mechanics work, I really have no idea how it would work for two people. It might work fine, or be completely broken with 2, so I'll just focus on solo.
Cleaned out the guild bank, again. If you see something in the guild bank you want but aren't at the appropriate level, just take it out and put it in your personal bank. And remember folks; nobody likes white trash.
