    Yeah, I understand the redundancy issue with some designs... well, really a lot of designs past a certain point in the BT timeline, especially with customization included.

    And the Rifleman finally gets some much needed improvement:

    Overview:
    Like the smaller Urbanmech, the Rifleman historically has been one of those highly specialized mechs that has the conflicting reputation; many belove it for being easy to maintain and many hate it for being a deathtrap. Originally intended as a mobile anti-aircraft defense platform, all too often it had the unfortunate fate of being pressed into service for roles it was never designed for. Simply put, if the term "glass cannon" is applicable, the mech had a reputation of being more "glass" than "cannon". That all changed with the advent of the Light PPC and advanced autocannons. These allowed the Rifleman to not only preserve its long reach, but efficiently freed up enough tonnage to allow for increased ammo efficiency and increased durability. Nothing like its maligned ancestors, the modern Rifleman is more than capable of engaging a variety of targets.

    The 60B is for anti-mech action in the field away from supply lines and the 60C is intended for city fighting or defending areas near supply lines. Hilariously, both are heat-stable.

    The Wolverine's arm mounted AC5 has never been particularly well received, but what if you swap it for a plasma rifle...

    Overview:
    Although past iterations were reasonably effective for their time, many pilots were quick to complain about the Wolverine's relatively weak primary gun. Without sacrificing speed or jump jets, the autocannon's significant weight precluded the mech from mounting sufficient additional weapons. Most experienced techs were quick to swap the autocannon for some form of large laser. This gave some additional firepower at decent ranges, but increased problems with heat. Solutions would continue to evade engineers until the introduction of the Plasma Rifle. Thankfully, this and other modern advancements have significantly improved the Wolverine's firepower as well as offering it additional flexibility against a wide range of targets.

    Why spikes for the left arm? They'd only protect that one location against melee attacks. They'd seem more useful in a torso location.

    A potential for the Jackdaw, built off the Kit Fox Alt C. Bumping up the engine to 7/11 and putting in the jump jets didn't leave much room for weaponry, but it did retain its main armament of the ER Large Laser. It's backed up by a brace of ER Small Lasers. Good to go for long slogs, since it is entirely free of the need for ammo.

    I updated the Jack B scout to drop a half ton of armor (down to 5 tons out of a 5.5 max) to pick up a flamer. It felt naked without an anti-infantry weapon. Needs something for crowd control and I didn't want to take half of its main armament and drop an ER Medium Laser to pick up some MGs or something.

    Here are my thoughts on how the Raven Alliance might operate a strictly Jackdaw light Murder of five of these things. 2 Primes for long range fire support, 2 Alt B for in close punch, 1 Alt B for sensor warfare. You have your Murder master in a Prime coordinating the fight. Alt B goes forward, pops some remote sensors out to provide visibility. Can swap sensor modes on the Watchdog as necessary. Light fires if needed to provide covering smoke. Alt As provide a screening force for the sniping of the Primes. You're looking at a 150 ton force, all going 7/11, all under 5 mil C-Bills each. Let's assume 4/5 pilots except your Murder master at a 3/4, give him a little bit of experience. You're at 6228 combined BV. Nothing to sneeze at at ALL. Total unit cost: 21,510,125. Less than an assault mech.
