Enjoying the game so far, I'm about to head to the Deep Roads I think, just about got all the side quests done. Went with Mage for the first play through after waffling for a while. Turns out they completely shut off friendly fire (even on hard, which I'm on), which makes life easy. Especially as a Primal/Force mage. Mmmmm, lightning. Hard definitely can give you a challenge if you aren't paying attention. I've had to go back and retry battles 2-3 times now and then. Also, for mages... force mage is freaking necessary. Getting the passive ability to add +100 to fortitude means you aren't staggered with every hit if something gets to melee, you can actually DO something besides die. I will say however, that after dicking around in Daggerfall and Oblivion for the past couple days, DA is SOO limiting on freedom of movement. Someone needs to combine the party aspect of DA with the open world of Elder Scrolls, preferably Daggerfall, where you could hover/fly/climb and go anywhere you pleased, instead of being stuck in a corridor.
I've only played the demo, but i really hated how it was all corridor based... is the whole game that way? Will I feel like I'm playing FF13?
Probably. It's just like all other "modern" RPGs by Bio in that regard. You'll be running around in Outdoorridors[tm]. Oh, and I guess there is FF, at least on Nightmare, which sounds tarded from what I've read.
DA2 is about as open as ME2, which is to say, not very open. DAO was not very open either. I am sensing a pattern with their games.
Again, don't single them out, every other game known to man besides a few are this way. Fu[dg]ing Mario.
Holy freaking reuse of the exact same "cave" Batman. Cheap ass motherfu[dg]ers. Still enjoying the game, but how LAME.
Is it just me or does Hard mode get easier when you get a few levels? I tried upping the level to nightmare and it became Mega Man hard. I pooped my pants then went back to RIFT. I am currently level 48 and will be 50 by sunday.
I dunno, it's pretty simple except for some battles, which just FLOOD you with high rank/elite mobs. And the boss fights take FOREVER. I just put it down to Normal cause a few battles kept pissing me off. I'd give the game a B- so far, and only recommend it if you really enjoyed DA or are spoiling for a game of this sort. They fixed some good things, but they were lazy little shits. The 6 repetitive dungeons/caves is getting more and more on my nerves as I finish up Act II. There was a slight change in art direction, but pretty much all the items and armors look identical to DA:O. All the hairstyles are lifted from the first game too. I don't know why it took them so long to get this game out to be honest.
The biggest (boobies) redeeming value is the fact that I can take control of Isabela and watch how "graceful" she is.
So Im going to jump back into DA2, is there any must have mods? or just good ones that you think I should use?
Yeah, there's this one mod that make the game unplayable. I'd go for that one. [edit] my apologies. I'm a little bitter over this one.

I know there is a lot of butt hurt around the game, but damn it I love bioware and everything they touch. i even loved mass effect 3 (they should have hit the credits button 20 minutes earlier than they did).
But, if you ignore the ending, ME3 was actually a good game while DA2 is just filled to the brim with bad game design. Anyway, that's not really what the thread is about is it. I did some looking around for DA2 mods and it seems like the modding scene didn't bother with it. All I can find are some graphical ones that changes textures and such so you're probably fine with playing it vanilla.
