Got the original a while back for PS3. Great game in my book. Capcom didn't implement denuvo drm, so there's probably gonna be a few mods I'll use including the SweetFX shader already out for it. They did decompress the textures however so that's nice.

I'm definitely going to be streaming this over steam when I get back to college, so if you wanna see what it'ss like or if you just want to watch me stab dragons to death be sure to hop on and watch.

Also if you're picking it up be sure to give me the name of your pawn (the player created companion) so I can use them in my party.

On that note this should help: https://cheapbossattack.wordpress.c...n-or-how-not-to-suck-at-being-a-virtual-pimp/

For those of you who don't know what dragon's dogma is, it's Capcom's attempt at a western rpg utilizing the climbing big monsters mechanic from Shadow of the Colossus. It's like D&D as an action game. There's harpies, direwolves, cyclopses, griffons, dragons, goblins, and chimeras, among other monsters to slay. Several western armor sets inspired by D&D itself and anime titles following that theme like Berserk and Hellboy . It actually had 2 of the Berserk armor sets in the original ps3, but due to licensing, it will not be on the pc version.
DD : DA includes the original game and the Dark arisen DLC, where you pretty much descend into hell to fight a previous arisen (what the MC hero who fights the dragon is called) who had bad shit happen to him so he essentially became satan. It's pretty boss. I hope you'll join me in playing the game or at least tag along and watch me every now and then while I stream.

Played the hell out of it on the console, never finished it, always got side tracked to the point I forgot what I was supposed to be doing. All. The. Time.

I haven't played it but read about it recently and already bought/pre-loaded it. Unfortunately I'm out of hte country for a week starting Friday (the day it unlocks) so I'll be a bit behind when I get back. Once I figure out the pawn thing I'll let you know.

Gonna make a longbowman for my pawn. She'll have the challenger for primary inclination and mitigator for secondary. Kill off annoying enemies who are ranged first (flying fuckers/ archers/ spellcasters) and then prioritizing the weakest present enemy after that to get rid of excess mobs.

I'll be playing this in a few days, any recs on the followers? I've been reading up that its easy to make someone less useful.

Also any classes I should avoid? Apparently magic archers are ridiculous, but not sure if I want to go OP off the bat (something about multi arrows with effects or something)

Magic Archers are pretty powerful. I wasn't even trying to min-max them, and they still wreck bosses with multi-shot homing arrows.

The pawn's can't use hybrid classes if I recall right, only the arisen can. Gonna start streaming in a little bit here over steam if anyone wants to watch.

Yea i meant the pawn question and the magic archer question as separate, one for pawns the other for the main.

So there's vocations and then their inclinations.

Their class (vocation) determines their stat growth over time. Their inclinations determine their behaviour. The type of inclination you want on your pawn should aid its class.

Alright, gonna make my pawn a warrior past lvl 10 to get the highest attk stat gain before making her an archer.

ALSO, FOREWARNING. The game decides your romantic interest based on an affection point system. This can be raised and lowered by presents or drawing your sword in front of someone/hitting them. However it can also be raised simply by talking to someone. This can lead to an awkward moment if your male character spent the most time talking with...oh I don't know let's say... the big burly ass shopkeep in the main city. So unless you want a romantic scene with a grizzly bear of a black smith later on, I recommend waving your sword at that motherfucker like he owes you money and giving presents to whatever lass you fancy most. There, I saved you from the shock of a campfire lit roll in the hay with the hank slabchest. You're welcome.

So my pawn is Lila, fighter for the moment. May re-spec her into a mage later, unsure yet. First play through so trying it out without reading too many guides.
