They are trying their damnedest to revive the series as a serious 2d fighter that is balanced enough for high end competitive play. Which is all I've ever wanted from Mortal Kombat
I have a bunch of console games I still have to buy and play through. I am thinking about just buying MvC3. I have played the game at a friend's but it isn't the same. I can not figure out whether to buy it for ps3 or 360. Yeah, this game is suppose to be super cereal and the moves are suppose to look brutal. That is why I am looking forward to it. Ever since Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, there has not been a decent MK game.
Never play fighting games over the internet, ping / lag makes "highy priority specials" and "mixup/poking" characters OP as fuck. Gotta seek out your local FG community, even in bumfuck Idaho I managed to find a group of 15 people that played SF4 / MvC2 every saturday for about 6-8 hours
By cheap mother fucks I mean my brother and friends growing up. I gave up in the PlayStation 1 timeframe.
Visit your local video game arcade. Fighting games are hard to come by these days. Every arcade loves the guitar hero/rock band thing or DDR or has way too many driving games that cost a dollar per game. When you do find that rare jewel of an arcade that has SS4 and MvC2/MvC3, support them by playing the ever living fuck out of those machines as much as humanly possible. I personally have spent enough money into MvC2 that I could afford to finish my master's and pay off half of a doctorate.
