Well, FPS vs. more niche melee combat game. One's gonna get more foot traffic. But what's odd to me is, what happened early February for Rainbow 6? That's a big boost out of the blue. The much more prominent cycles are interesting, too - weekly/bi-weekly events?
Sure, in the long run, but For Honor did start with active player counts around 45k. It isn't that it couldn't get players; it couldn't keep them. Early feb marked the rollout of a new "operation" for R6. An operation tends to roll once a quarter, and introduces a new map, and new operators. Beyond that, they run weekly challenges.
Just a note the starter edition is free right now: https://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/e...e-on-uplay-console-versions-on-sale-during-e3
Just tried this today. This game is legit good now. The base game is free again and although there are microtransactions, don't let that turn you off; as far as I can tell, everything can be acquired in game and the premium currency can be obtained at a reasonable rate (not much different than how Warframe handles things). I've barely played for more than an hour doing the daily events and I'm already half way to unlocking another hero. There is even Coop mode if you get bored with Solo and need to take a break from PvP. If anyone wants to join me for the conquest mode, I picked the Viking faction... naturally. (you can still play as any hero regardless of the faction you pick).
For Honor is free to keep forever on Uplay this week https://www.pcgamer.com/for-honor-is-free-to-keep-this-week-on-uplay/
Haven't played in a while... its fun, but in small doses as the games are all pretty much the same. It does 1v1 combat pretty well, not as much when you start getting crowds.
