Wow, fun with etymology. I was doing a little research today, kveykja or kvekva roughly translate to "quicken" according to the old Cleasby/Vigfusson Icelandic dictionary, and the related kverykur of kvikur (something like "quickening" I think) was a word for the action of yeast fermenting mead or ale. Now I'm thinking of what Highlander could have been if it the battle for ultimate, immortal power was all about brewing lots of beer. It might actually have made a better movie.
